Right at the first lesson I sounded like a seal 🦭 at 1:00 AM. Update right after video: holy moly! I discovered a high, clean pitch voice I was never able to reach before! Thanks for the lesson
For male beginners: thumbs under the chin is gold, because it's one of the few where u can actually "touch" the error with your very fingers. It was the one excercise that allowed me to bridge registers. As a teacher I would sell that information lol
Hi from Sweden: I would like to give you my biggest thanks because after finding your channel I have gotten HOPE. You see: when I was in my teens I made a record and during high school I was in a church choir and not just “any” we where known because the lady who thought us is apparently sort of famous. She has written music to many great poems and she has been playing around in Europe and many more things. She also demands the highest quality being a member in the choir. She wouldn’t accept someone who could slip of tune. We performed really big things like Mozart’s requiem and Bach wienacht oratory and so much more. On top of that I and two friends used to sing a lot but then I got a hearing aid on my right ear which improved my hearing but some how I also noticed I started to sing bad. Not horrible but in comparison to my known standard I noticed that when I sang a Capella I sometimes sang falsely or made a key change. This made me quit singing and I am only 37. I just sang at home sometimes but nothing else. It was really sad. I had also during a time period had my own choir and conducted them and I used to be in a band as well. As a singer. Yes I was really upset about all of this and then I found YOU and your way of teaching and explaining and encouraging! And now I have been lifted up from the deep hole of despair to a plain walkable ground with my head hold high because I have hope and I have even noticed already improvements! So I am also now a subscriber! Thank you so much for what you do! ❤
I am really so happy for you. I lead a praise and worship team and had sang fairly well until I got stage 4 cancer and had two major surgeries resulting from the ill effects of my treatment. It's so very sad when you used to be able to do something that you loved and then couldn't do it anymore. I am glad we both found some help. 💖
I just learned more about moving from head voice to chest voice smoothly, in 30 seconds, than I did from three different vocal coaches in college over 4 years. Dammit, but THANK YOU!!!!!
I used to could sing decently. After Stage 4 cancer and two major surgeries resulting from negative side effects, my singing really got to where I genuinely hated the way I sounded. I felt like my singing sucks. With your help, I am sucking a whole lot less! Thank you!!
Thank you! So glad you came up in my feed. Im working on my gospel album and so im looking for someone who delivers great RU-vid training videos. Blessings 😊
Wow. It’s so crazy how I felt everything flip while doing the creaky exercise. At first I couldn’t get my tongue to relax, but as I kept my thumbs under my jaw and focused on relaxing my tongue it just suddenly said “Oh ok. That’s what you want me to do.” The sound changes in my head too. Like it was in a different place all of a sudden. That was pretty cool and very unexpected lol Thank you for these exercises. The way you explain them helps so much
I tend to go off pitch the note after the difficult note LOL. I concentrate so much on hitting that high note correctly that when i drop back down, thats where I mess up. But at least now i can hear it and try to fix it. These exercises look great 👍
Question: Will this only develop accuracy for the major scale? Should I do the same exercises for Minors, harmonic minors, pentatonics etc etc? or will there be a rub off benefit?
i was wondering this too but figured that you can watch any other minor warm up video on youtube and apply the same sounds, like the ugly ahh, to those scales.
@@35mmonrose Yea but let's be honest, we're all looking to become better singers in our busy daily routines, almost everyone on this page is not a professional singer. So I'm looking for the shortest route to getting better. I don't wanna become Mariah Carey; just not told to shut up when I sing.
I have never heard of doing a little vocal fry at the beginning ... I wonder, if I can hit the first pitch right on, is there still a benefit to doing the vocal fry, or is that more just to help you get a good start if you're a little shaky?
my only question here is that while doing the excrsises how do i make sure that i am hitting the right notes and not singing all of them in the same pitch. that was actually why clicked on this vid to understand how to do that
