Fixed Another Dirty Dodge 

weekend trash hauling truck/son's first truck.... nah, that's a "I don't want car payments" truck I've paid under 1000 for every vehicle I've owned. Screw having car payments!

For a grand, it ain't that bad! Given that you said that it'll come with a radio, better tires, master cylinder, and CLEAN the interior! Not bad for a NON RUSTY truck!

I actually wanted a Dakota of this body style a few years ago. I like the looks of the second generation Dakota the best out of all of them

In my neck of the woods that's a $2000 truck all day. You simply can't find cheap work trucks, especially with a working a/c. The contractors, plumbers and landscape guys snatch these cheap trucks up quick. I bet once it's cleaned up that thing will look really nice.

I have had my Doge for about 18 years works great air conditioning works great and heater

my dad has one of these. 5.9 v8 auto. 4x4 146.000 miles I think. It has had a good 17 (my bad) years of life. not many problems. a fuel pump and computer I believe that's it. hopefully he'll give it to me when I start driving.

What a great little truck. I hardly ever see these Dakotas anymore here in Michigan. Here, just about everything rusts out after it gets to be more than 8 years old.

I never cease to be amazed how you guys give away solid, rust-free, great running trucks! That would be worth at least double that much up here if the tailgate were squirted so it matched. Hard to believe so cheap!

My grandma still has her 1989 Dodge Dakota. It has 155,000 miles on it and it is still her daily driver.

I have a 2000 club cab dakota with the 4.7 it's rusted to shit but if something breaks there's usually 3 rows of them at junk yards. Really easy trucks to work on

My son just started drivin truck LOL!! :))) Make sure to polish those headlights and apply heat using a head gun to the plastic bits(wheel arche, door handle, sidesteps etc) it will turn those light dark plastic door trims back to deep black, squeez more eye candy out of it and cash.

I'd drive that thing over anything new. I have a 2000 durango with the 4.7, I know a lot of people have problems with those engines but such a beast

Buff the headlights it will look like new,those are great little trucks,I like tan dash and door panels,will look nice when all cleaned up.

Man i would love to have this truck, i got a 1999 dakota with the 3.9 V6 and such, 4WD runs good but its got a bad frame, kinda a bummer, been lookin for a different one. Just want a good first truck, but no luck so far. Good job on fixin it up!

Truck could go for a long time my 4x4 2000 v6 magnum just finally blew the trans with 308000 miles thing has been a tank lasted me from 16 two me almost turning 19 was a great first truck trying to buy a V8 one now

I’ll admit Dodge isn’t my first choice for a truck but for $1,000 why not? Clean it up, throw a radio in it, A/C still works, for $1,000 that’s a great deal.

I used the have the Acura version of that Isuzu Trooper in the background, it was a 1996 Acura SLX. They got a bad review for being top-heavy, and could roll-over if you made a sharp turn.

They seriously need to bring the Dakota back.

My father acquired a 99 Dodge Durango with the 5.2 v8, 2wd only 99k on it, it was from the department of defense, paid 1500. Garage kept not a spot of rust. This is a 600 truck to be honest over here

One positive you have the toque flite 3 speed auto bullet proof and this is pretty rare to see with no overdrive. Chrysler cant make an overdrive transmission.

Everybody is talking about how great the 4.7 and 5.2 are, but if you want a truck that will last just get a base 3.9 with the 5 speed. 300k+ miles still running like new.

Jay, don't let that truck go fo any less than $1,500! It'll sell for at least that when cleaned up. I have a white '02 V6 Club Cab Dakota I use as a spare truck, and it has 226k miles on it. It made the trip back to TN from FL last summer w/ no problem. And the trip down to FL a year earlier. Mine HAS been a money pit, but it was neglected when I bought it, and I got it cheap. Whatever happened to that silver 3rd gen Dakota 4x4 you had a year ago?

Nice truck. Should last years as a second or third vehicle. With ZERO rust is even worth putting a used motor in when time comes instead of spending 25 to 35 grand on a new one!

Got a '95 Ram 1500 4WD (standard cab, short bed, AC, CC, 318, HD suspension, tow package) with 117K for $2K. Paint was shot, tires dried out...all done (I am the labor force, lol), have had, it two + years not in it $4K. I'll never understand the $40-80+K crowd

Before you even start looking to fix a Dodge truck I will tell you what I told my one friend that burned him twice: Check the frame. Especially if it's 80's or newer. Terminal frame rot - not rust: ROT. With more kids mudding vehicles it can be terminal death for newer frames.

Huh. You call that a junker. It's in better shape than my '00 dakota. Mine had rusted out rear wheel wells. Same mileage, and lifter tick my 3.9 engine. Those look like 16" wheels from '01 to '04 Dakota's (Or 01-03 Durango's) I put so much work into my dakota before I was forced to sell it. Replaced the power steering pump, and the steering rack. Fixed the rust spots as best as I could. How is the power steering pump by the way? the 3.9's always seem to leak.

Wow you come across some decent vehicles. Not show cars but vehicles for a minimal fee that will last few more years. Great job keeping them out of the crusher.. Do you run a business somewhere doing this? Your vehicles seem in my price range.

FYI I still think you have it priced too low. My last truck was totaled out in a wreck, insurance gave me $5900 for it. 2004 Toyota Tacoma, base model, I think A/C was the only option. Reg cab, 5 speed, 4 cylinder, silver, had 190k on it when it was wrecked. Was my dad's commuter truck, but he kept it really nice, no wrecks, body straight as an arrow, all original paint, really nice/clean truck, immaculate interior. After the wreck, I asked dad what he paid for it, $12,000 out the door with taxes and everything in 2004, totaled in 2018 with 190k miles, insurance payout was almost exactly half of what he bought it for lol.

one thing i have noticed is that jay is wearing a high vis jacket, either means old health and safety came to town and saw the vids without your jacket on, or its now legal in that yard as in no jacket no job or no working that day,

I don't know the market for Dodge trucks, but $1200-1400 seems like you are giving that away if it runs/shifts like a new truck with cold a/c, nice interior, plus its very well equipped, extra cab, power windows, locks, V6, etc. Take a steam cleaner to that interior, I'd bet it come out looking almost new. I know little Toyota pickups that nice sell for a good bit more. Sold my old POS 1993 Toyota pickup, 2wd, reg cab, 22-RE/5 Speed for $1500. It had 170k miles on it, ran/shifted like a brand new truck(had a new clutch), handled/rode nice, steering was pretty tight, brakes were all new on the front. Bench seat was super nice and in mint condition, old lady drove so no bubba fatass in that truck but it did take two cans of carpet cleaner to get the stains out. Had absolutely no rust, southern truck its whole life. Cons were the body was rough as a cobb, every single body panel on it had some sort of damage, it was painted flat black with house paint, you could see the brush marks. Had been hit in the front, crooked front bumper, none of the body panels lined up on the front of that truck but the chassis was straight. Broken A/C, dash was cracked to hell. I mean your truck looks WAY nicer than my old 1993 Toyota POS, that thing looked like it was straight out of Mad Max, just needed a .50 cal in the bed and some pointy spikey things welded on it lol.
