Fixed Blade Broadhead Accuracy Test

We shoot the new G5 M3, Tooth of the Arrow, G5 Montec, and the QAD Exodus through the Elite Kure.
We wanted to know which fixed blade broadhead was flying just right, so we filmed it and figured we would share what we found out. Obviously all broadheads are going to fly different out of each bow, and there is human error in these test. But if you are interested in some of these broadheads this will be a video you are going to want to watch.

Nice shooting! All of your groups were quite consistent, which proves the main variable being tested here was the different broadheads. With your setup, the G5 Montec broadheads would be in my quiver. I switched from a fixed 3-blade broadhead that I shot for decades to Slick Trick Viper Tricks a few years ago. As far as accuracy & penetration goes, I don't see myself ever switching to anything else. If I were searching for a new broadhead, the G5 Montec would be on my short list. It would be interesting to see the same test done with different shooters/bows/arrows.

Nice test! I love the original Montec, it's a cool-looking broadhead that has always performed pretty well for me. It would be nice to see a warm-up and then control group with field points first before jumping right into testing, make it as scientific as possible. Just a suggestion, have a good one!

From the comment about the Triads. I'd like to see them cut into thirds, with each third weighed, and each third flex tested with a weight. Somebody did that with their dual spine arrows & found no difference in weight or flex. I hear they fly good. I'd just like to see the tri-spine evaluation.

What I found really interesting is the penetration of the new montec M3s. Old ones fly better due to less metal to be impacted by wind and air. But new oned trade that for crazy penetration. Question can you tune new ones to fly like old ones? That would be perfect broadhead.

Common misconception for broadhead tuning. Should micro adjust towards broadhead impact with left and right planing.
@bowdude33

@@wtw8277that’s the sight adjustment you’re thinking of moving towards the hit not the rest adjustment
@wtw8277

If broadhead impacting right of field point consistently you micro adjust the rest to the right. If broadhead hits left of field point move rest to the left. If broadhead hits high compared to field point you move arrow rest down and vis vs for broadhead low of field point. The physics do not change from paper tuning to broadhead tuning. Bareshaft and broadhead flight will function same way. This is commonly misunderstood. MFJJ of podium archer had to do additional video correcting this bc he had it incorrect the first time.

Thanks for your efforts and I’m not trying to be negative but any of these broadheads will fly like field points if you micro tune to each of the broadheads. Human error is also prevalent here (not knocking your skills) and a hooter shooter would prove to be a better tool. I think all of these are great broadheads.
