My Tinyhawk RTF kit with googles flies fine for the first minute in angle mode. Takes off and hovers fine but the more I fly it the quad will start drifting backwards to the point where full forward pitch it will only keep it still and not go forward and backward pitch is insane. Need help please !!!
Hadn't thought of adding a capacitor to it. Great idea, I'll be doing that to mine. Thanks so much for all the info mate. ALSO, that is the BEST song choice for the end hahaha!! :D
I have a tinyhawk 3 rtf kit. I calibrated the accelerometer, but it will randomly reset itself leaning forward about 15 degrees causing difficulty keeping stable. Then sometimes it will go back to it original settings. Its like it disconnecting from somthing then reconnecting? It's also yawing like a clock, ticking by 10 degrees right until it completes a full rotations. It also sounds like it gets random inputs to 1 prop every 10 to 20 seconds. Tested props in beta flight, they were all fine. All plugs and connections are fine. Any advice?
If I was to bash mobula 7 I would of done it on a video that wasn't how to fix the multiple issues with it's competitor. Good informative video, good job.
Thanks for posting your impressions. Mine just landed in the mailbox and I want to start flying it indoors this weekend. Just wondering if you found it necessary to trim the accelerometer to get a drift free hover or was it good right out of the box. I was thinking of putting a few flights in before going with the mockingbird settings. I’m a newbie and my plan is get some LOS flying in before doing FPV with it.
My googles have gone out twice now. The first board lasted all of about three weeks/4hrs of flying. The second board that I replaced it with lasted less than that. Something keeps going wrong/bad with the circuit board inside. I know that these are cheap googles but for forty bucks i expect more than what i have gotten out of them.
I'm able to bind my Emax transmitter to the quad, but under the "Mode" section, the "Arm" is showing disabled and red color. Can you tell me what goes wrong? Thanks.
It looks like you soldered the capacitor to the camera wires, not the battery wires. Would it have been better to put the capacitor on the battery wires instead? That is where I typically see it in most quad builds.
Capacitor is soldered to the 3.3v pad. It's not to stop jist video noise but to stop it cutting out while there's still battery life. Generally you would solder straight to battery lead pads as you say
Great video mate thank you for the tips. Do you know if this Quad will work with the FlySky Nirvana NV14 Controller? I'm sure I know the answer but I can't really find specific information about the transmitter on the TinyHawk besides: EMAX Tiny receiver (Compatible with Frsky D8 mode)
Tbh I don't know. Nirvana uses ibus not sbus so youd have to use a separate receiver. Board appears to have a spare uart like the other ones so I'd imagine you could add one, but not sure. Or u could add a frsky jr module to the nirvana
@@CoppertopFPV thanks for replying mate, yeah I've seen that it seems you can connect a transmitter to the tiny hawk I'll see when it arrives. Thank you.
Check your motor connections to fc. Watched another video with the same issue and that's how he was able to fix it. Possibly reflash escs/recalibrate? Not sure if it's possible on tinyhawk. Lmk if it works! I was having this issue and have yet to dive in lol
You failed to cover the biggest flaw and that is the inoperable turtle mode. It spins all four props instead of just the two you wish to spin depending in stick position. Also, my video is crap too. It's only really bad when viewed on DVR. I tried a 460uf cap on battery leads to no avail and since removed it. Do you think a cap on the 5v will help the noise ? Maybe both, one in batt leads and one on 5v ? I already installed 10uf on 3.3v and that worked great.
RCing in SC turtle mode works fine on mine and can be done using different props - see frequent fliers channel. I think they’re looking into releasing some updated ones, but yeah odd they spent so long designing this and ignored it. My video noise was random, and seemed to get worse the more flights I did on the bounce. The more caps the merrier, but I think it’s just a crap board design.
Hey! I just got this today, and my goggles just don’t work. My brother also got one of these. When I plug in the power to the goggles, I can hear it whirring, but the screen remains black. I can plug In that same battery pack to my brothers goggles and it works fine. Any ideas would be appreciated! Thank you in advance! 🙏
Coppertop FPV when I plug in the battery pack, there is no logo, or anything it just stays black, like it’s off. I’m a beginner lol, so I have no clue what to do
Hello i did bough a used tinyhawk and a used betafvp controller not from same guy. this drone does not fly good its hell to keep altitide its bouncing alot and many times start wobble if i push hard up after he lose altitide. i did try download the old betaflight and set the main settings back to the drone but he wont arm, when i download the new betaflight i manage get the drone fly but he dont fly good. i did put in the numbers people say in profile 1. alittle lost here sinse i dont get the original profile and settings to work. there the beeper works but the drine dont arm and refuse to fly- maby also the controller is fucked up sinse the throttle is almoust from nothing to full throttle
Great video and thanks! My darn Tinyhawk doesn't fly great at all :( its brand new too and I've also tried changing batteries, etc. with no affect at all... Soon as I turn it on it seems aggressive and if it bumps into anything the throttle goes all the way to the limit forcing me to turn off and repeat... this is my 1st small quad and I'm just not feeling it. I hear all kinds of great things about the Tinyhawk, but so far mine is acting like a crazy ex-girlfriend! I'm wishing for the "butter smooth" performance you're getting... 🙏🏻 Any ideas? Am I completely missing something? HELP! Thanks again for the video. Once I figure the flight characteristics out, I can work on the cap and hopefully start enjoying this little guy! Best
Stashman FPV odd. reflash Betaflight and use the mockingbird settings in the description. Also make sure airmode is off when in angle mode. See if that works. If it doesn’t reflash blheli on your escs.
After 1 Minute flight time, 3,6 - 3,7 volts i always got RSSI lost for some 200 miliseconds every 3 seconds, even more when i push the hawk, but why? i tested with three new fresh different batteries, every battery same problem, please help me... i had this from the beginning i bought it :( the inside of the FC looks good, all soldering is ok.
These all sag with the ph connector. They're crap. It's a little better on jst and even better with an xt30. Batteries are cheap so just fly till it drops and work out how long you can fly for. Don't know 're the rx lost. Not a problem I've had. Pull the antenna out and see if that helps. You could always look at adding a separate receiver or reflashing the board and seeing if it helps.
Thx for your answer! Hm as i said after 1 minute it is unflyable because of several rssi lost where it becomes uncontrollable, so maximum of 1 minute flighttime i get, this is not acceptable for me. I have a Betafpv 2s with JST-Connectors and i have absolut no problem with sag / rssi lost, same track, and have great flight time. Yes i can try soldering JST connector on the Hawk and battery if it becomes better, or i try to solder the PH new, perhaps there is bad connection, so that every battery shows same problem...
@@mh7711 is the flight time 1 minute? Or does it just sag? I get over 3 minutes on mine. Id reflash and see if it's a bad hex on the board causing rssi. Otherwise warranty time...

@@CoppertopFPV It just sag but then i bring it back to ground early because sometimes when there is a sag / loss, the quad falls to ground rapidly, dont want to damage it. I even dont know if it is a sag because there is no lack of power / punch, only RSSI failes. I try connection and i will try a 10uf capacitor between 3,3v and ground, in another video it says that this can be a solution too.
@Finexity have you been able to figure this out? Mine just did this today and I have not been able to figure out or find a way to get the video to sync back up.
@@schr0dr504 got a new FC last week and this repaired my issue. I can see now there are two chips on the original board that popped and went bad. No reason, just happened. EMax was of no help and only offered an overpriced replacement, i brought a replacement from racedayquads.com
i just ordered the eachine trashcan comes with the f4 caddix eos cam and 200mw capable vtx . upgraded frame commpared to the mobula and better motors hope its good we will see , emax is coming out with a 2s versionj
i just got my tiny hawk 3 and for some reason when i lift off it likes to flip over then the throttle goes to max and i cannot control it anymore i have to disarm it to stop it any ideas what im doing wrong?
Can you help me with a problem? i have a Tinyhawk 2 which i was flying earlier today with no problems what so ever, but i got unfortunate and hit the ground with it, and after that i dont get any signals to my goggles, but i can still fly the drone. I dont have alot of experience repairing quads, so any help would be nice! i was flying with a 2s battery at the time.
Please help !!! I connected it to betaflight to change settings...ended up loosing the settings...now once I connect it to betaflight it's not connecting....once you connect flashes red light ...then red light stays on...tried uploading both software from betaflight ....tried binding it too....no luck so far ....please help !!
Download the immersion rc driver fixer and run it with the fc plugged in then reflash to 3.57.. Sounds like Its stuck. Not sure if there's boot button on that board but if there is you could try pushing it and connecting via usb and see if that works
Love the flight characteristics but as you mention the video is diabolical. I've put caps across the 3v and 5v pads and it's not made much of a difference. The crappy Happymodel camera/vtx is better than this and that's saying something.
Yup. I've bought another frame and I'm going to experiment with it using one of the crazybee boards. I dont think any of these have nailed it completely yet. Video noise on 1s is embarrassing.
Just got one today.. very impressed with how it flies for the size. Thanks for the tips! I agree with everything you’ve said here. Thanks for sharing the info
