If time is everything, always get a new one. If more free time is available and you can get a used laptop in good condition, you may consider it.. otherwise dont..
I had a laptop HDD that I used for a few days with my phone and smart tv using an external HDD connector. After a few days, my HDD encountered a problem and wouldn't show the drive when I tried to connect it to my laptop via USB port using the same external HDD connector. However, I can feel the spindle motor operating inside, but the drive is not shown in the laptop. Is it my HDD or the external HDD connector that's the problem? Will be able to retrieve the data if Harddisk spindle runs ?
Sorry for the delay; I have checked after connecting the HDD I am hearing tik tik sound and some motor is running inside but It's not detected in the Device Manager.
