Just install winrar in your laptop and extract files. After installing the winrar software. Just double click the downloaded file. That will be open from there.

It used to be when I would shop for a laptop, I would look at certain hardware specifications like the CPU speed, graphics card, RAM, and some other things. But now, I check to see if a laptop has a Synaptics trackpad because that name has become a cuss word. Synaptics was trash before, currently still is, and always will be. Get a laptop with precision drivers. It is the year 2021 and every time Windows does an update it breaks my synaptics software and has to be reinstalled. I appreciate the video but wanted to point out that this should be a one time thing.

Hello, I downloaded it and installed it successfully and restarted twice (even though it didn;t ask for a restart) but it still doesn't fix the problem nor does it appear in Device manager under Mouse and other devices. I also downloaded the Lenovo touchpad from the official lenovo website and installed it as well but the same happens. When I tried to install it again it told me it is already installed but like.. it is not doing anything?. Do you happen to know why this happens?

I fixed the problem earlier by downloading ETDproperties on the Microsoft store which allowed me to change the settings from there so I’m fine now. Although the synaptics is still missing in the touchpad settings. But thank you for replying.

You should try these official drivers for your laptop, Link: ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp96501-97000/sp96966.exe But remember your laptop does not support windows 11 officially, But you can use Win-11. Hope so the above mentioned drivers will work perfectly. However I would like to assist you if the above drivers do not work. You have to download manually drivers for your touchpad from DRP official website which providing bundle of drivers of almost all type of hardware's.

i got an error that i have new version and the error says if i want to install this version i should delete the old from from add/remove programs but there i cant see any the driver. it like a circle

You can uninstall from Device Managaer... *Right Click on My computer > select Manage > Select Device Manager > and see for human interface devices or touchpad or mouse. Remember : Make sure you can install drivers after that by using keyboard or have an external mouse. Because your touchpad will not work after uninstalling the previous driver untill you install the new one.

I did this and it worked like in the video until the part i was supposed to reset. It did not ask me to, and when i restarted it anyway, the settings were still not there. I did not have the driver prior to trying this, and it is still using the default microsoft mouse driver.
