A nice relaxing stove rebuild to start my 5:00 a.m. shift off. I don't own one of these yet but have about 50 old stoves around here. Been soaking my pump leathers in baby oil before I put them back in. As close to mineral oil as I have. I hate messing with the packing personally. So finicky until you get it back right again. Depending on the stove I'm working on, sometimes I avoid it and test it to see if it's acceptable before I delve in. Always keep some of that plumber's graphite string around for emergencies. Been on a kerosene optimus stove kick here on my end lately. There's a beauty in these old stoves for sure. I quit drinking after 2020 and it's been a very relaxing hobby for me. Really love the low tech fantastic flames they still put out. Been a little harder to source the parts coming out of the UK recently for the Optimus / Primus stoves. The Royal Mail has been moving like a snail for me. Everybody needs a few check valve removal tools in their collection. Don't have one for the Coleman yet. Maybe someday. Got to be a better experience than the screw extractor after an oopsie. Can't wait to see what you got for us next Skeet. God bless

Hi, I'm relatively new to stove's. I have a Petromax lantern that I have cleaned a few times. I have ordered a Coleman 424 Dual Fuel, two stove. I have seen a lot of videos about Coleman stoves on RU-vid, e.g. yours and of course OldTown Coleman. You deserve great praise for your videos, sound, light, focus, seriousness and professional skill. I saw your two year old video with a Coleman 500 from 41 I think. In that video you say badboy over and over, very disturbing to me. I follow what you do and say intently to learn and then badboy takes the attention and I have to go back a bit in the video to get it all again. It is a classic in communication, repeating the same irrelevant words takes the attention away from the message you want to publish and share your knowledge. You deserve a lot of praise for your serious and high professional knowledge and skills. No smart introvert, sunglasses and platitudes. Hope you can forgive my comment about badboy. When I graduated as an engineer 35 years ago, communication was included as part of my graduation project. We had to learn to be good communicators, tell in a language that everyone can understand, objectively and seriously, no one smartly beat out with his arms, down on the ground. You can do all that, “badboy”.
i have a 1951 they where used in koren war the guy i bought it from that thaught it was a heater minds missing the wind sheild i got a new genrater at old colman parts
I picked one of these older stoves up at an auction for $2. I can’t get it to settle down to a blue flame. I get a high yellow flame. The vapor/fuel lever seems to be working. Thoughts?
