Spike it brand also has a soft plastic glue, it's priced a bit cheaper on Amazon ( right now TW has it the cheapest if you are making a big enough order for free shipping) and I am interested in using this on a creature bait, the discontinued Yum "Mighty Bug" that the hook seems to always tear the nose up and ruin it. I am hoping this saves me some more baits, as the Mighty Bug seems to always "Kick bass" for me. Once I burn up my stock, I will have to make a mold and pour my own.
Have you found the best way to store Mend-it? Cold, Room temps, frozen? Some glues last longer in the freezer. I won't buy another bottle until I get a bunch of swimbaits tore up and open it then to get longer glue life.
I don’t have a good answer to that. I always kept mine in the garage and it was good for at least the first year. I did microwave it for a few seconds and it helped.
Did you have a bottle go bad? I've had the same bottle in my boat for close to 10 years. Only use it a few times a year. Used it to cover some swimbait eyes over the weekend and it seemed fine.
@@decentyo1276 I bought one of those small bottles and it got hard in a years time. Cap was on tight. Must last longer in the big bottle. I’ve been holding off until I get a bunch torn up and use most of it all at the same time. I bought the small bottle because I thought the big one might go bad over time. I guess my drying out theory was bass ackwards.
You can add 100% acetone to bring it back to life. If it starts to get thick add a little at a time and shake well to mix it in. Add more to get it to the right consistentcy. Use 100% acetone not nail polish remover whivh has other things in it. You can thank me later for this tip. LOL!
