You are a businessman first and a youtuber second. Your videos are always entertaining regardless of the "attainability" of the project. Your ASL is a massive inspiration to me and I can't wait to make my own of some sort.
0:10 Boo to them! Your channel is most definitely is and _should be all about_ crazy, powerful, highly modified, custom cars that are not so far out of the reach (your Project ASL videos are truly inspirational!) of a mechanically savvy person with a good garage. Keep up the good work!
Yea but a guy with this level of knowledge can definitely give practical advice. The ASL is fucking wild. I just couldn’t believe I stumbled upon it. But I wouldn’t attempt anything close to that.
I like all of your videos but I particularly like your custom builds and modifications. videos on how to do routine work are common but the custom work you do is pretty unique. For those watching who like to see detailed how to videos on Mercs try Legit Street Cars, Alex is an ex Mercedes technician, he is entertaining and very good at what he does.
Great video, I'm quite interested in the m156! Curious though, since you're in there doing the head-bolts, and the cam lobes have started to discolour, why not just replace the lifters, rebuild the cam-adjusters and not worry about this potential issue for years to come?
Thank you for your videos and time you make them , I will need to replace head bolts on m156 with 130 k miles your experience on that mileage could it be done one by one , or in what mileage they snap?
There’s no such thing as “they break after this mileage”. I have full step by step DIY if helpful ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zJO1qNnhxw4.html
I'm going to replace the adjuster plates on my M156. Do you have a cheat sheet of all the torque specs for the bolts, like the cam shaft bridges, head cover bolts, cam bolts, etc?
Just noticed that you've got a milwaukee ratchet. I'm thinking about getting a right-angled impact, any opiions on the... well... few available options? edit: all the technical discussions is why I (and probably many others) subbed in the first place, I found you with your suspension kinematics videos, which are IMO a very good starting point (i.e. tells you what to research further and what to look for). Don't be afraid to keep em coming :)
I live in beaverton oregon i have tried to find shop to repair the crankshaft the replace the one connecting rod new rod and main bearings new oil pump new head bolts new gaskets clean heads to make the vehicle drive the engine still runs and drives
2:50 - Would it have been easier to check the serial number of the engine rather than remove the valve covers? All engines before 60-060658 are supposed to have the older style.
You replaced the bolts without dropping the accessory belt and didn't say a word about dropping the antifreeze from the block. Can you confirm you didn't drop the antifreeze?
@@AlexHernandez-xh8ei passenger side shock tower has a weird seal on unusual place. Couldn't check the driver side, didnt have a good clear view, it's very difficult to see it from the video. Also noticed that the car has been abused, have seen very bad days, most likely it has a very high mileage too.
