@@alessandroairoldi877 should had gotten an rgh since cod on ps3 are broken. I have both an rgh xbox trinity and jasper, including a jailbroken ps3 slim.
I have so many memories of this console with Little Big Planet and Minecraft. However, who decided 12 GB was enough was crazy 😅. Had to buy an expansion device as well

The largest game install was GTA V at less than 5 GB so yes, it's not that strange. In fact I wonder what took them so long to stop shipping consoles with arbitrary HDD sizes and let us install one of our own from the start instead. The HDD alone must have accounted for at least $40 for any model they sold. 12 GB is enough for surprisingly many smaller PSN games. I have the 12 GB model with a terabyte drive in it. Got it brand new for less than $90.
@@user-rd6uc2sf6i There are many games that were printed on dual layer discs as well so you might as well argue 50 GB. But what does it matter how big the game is on disc? It doesn't have any impact on the hard drive (or flash storage) until you install it. GTA V wasn't 18 GB install, but I just looked it up and it wasn't less than 5 GB either. It's two installations of 2069+8487 MB = 10.5 GB. But that's the largest game install there is afaik. Games on PS1 could be 740 MB large and 8.5 on PS2 and they didn't have have storage at all. 12 GB flash storage goes far if the game installs are only in the kilobytes, which they were for the earliest games. Personally, I find it makes more sense to ship a very cheap console with barely any storage and let you decide what to upgrade to, than forcing you to buy 250 gigs that you need to replace at some point anyway.
@@user-rd6uc2sf6i It might be if you installed it from PSN, but nobody did that back in the day and there especially wasn't anybody dumb enough to do it on a 12 GB flash superslim. The game on disc was advertised to need 8 GB for installation but I remember it as smaller than that once installed. There were add-ons after that which makes it bigger but not 25 GB. Besides, it's kind of a dumb point. "Yeah let's equip standalone DVD players with 64 MB of memory when the video disc itself is 4.7 GB". Yes? So? Unless it needs to dump those 4.7 GB (or 25 in your case), how much storage space the machine has is completely irrelevant.
PS3 games usually don't install unless they are downloaded or late games. But I think they never fully installed because MS had the rights to that at the time.
Lol mine is 465 something gb and I even filled colour in it(still has little bit after cleaning) and drop tested it from 4ft...... Then jailbreaked it twice......Still runs like a beast(no lag at any game)...... PS3 is the Best❤❤❤
@@TheMadHatter513 there’s no point for PS3. It doesn’t improve loading times at all since most games are hard coded for HDD read speeds. Buying an SSD for a PS3 is just washing money down the toilet

I keep mine flat. I honestly don't think it deserves as much hate as it gets. Yes, it was built to a budget but mine still works whereas my buddy's chechb 20gb launch model doesn't.
I've had mine 10 years almost, the 500gb model. Always kept it clean, never had to open it. I eventually got the vertical stand and installed PS3HEN, it has temperature readings and fan speed control. I run the games preloaded on the HDD (the one the system came with) and the temperature runs under or just above 50 c. I'm not worried about changing the thermals at this point.
I would recommend not to use SSD in ps3 super slim. I had bad experience. My SSD stopped working after 15 days of use in ps3. Due to ssd my ps3 got heated up like a boiler. Now I m using a 500 gb hdd for last 6 month. No issue of over heating found till now. I think ssd creates bottleneck in Ps3.
i think sony teased the ps4 back in 2012 because of how the box design looks so similar to the 2013 ps4 box design and the fact that both consoles some of the material is the same on the ps4 lol And to the ps4 was in development pretty much almost done in 2012.
I just bought a super slim today it has a 1tb drive the previous owner installed I’m going to go ham on installing the PlayStation store demos lol and definitely play a few rounds of mw2 seeing as I have a 360 but don’t have the money for gamepass core
Ps 3 это вещь. Имею во владении slim версию. Собрал из fat и slim, много чего модернизировал в ней. От hhd до системы охлаждения с подсветкой. Очень нравиться она мне. 👍
I own this same PS3 and have GranTurismo 5 on it and GranTurismo 5 made me inlove with cars again so when i got a better phone i decided to download a PS2 emulator just to play GranTurismo 4
