I end up rebuilding the Yamaha Blaster transmission to see if I can fix the no shifting issue. I also adjust and re-shim the valves on the Arctic Cat DVX 400 sport quad and take it for a test drive. #Yamaha, #Blaster, #DVX400

Safety first Sergio here, but please don't risk freezing to death in that garage. I know you're in Wisconsin, which is a different kind of cold than what we have in NC, and I don't want you to get hurt making these videos! Now my plea without a valid solution would be incomplete, so I would guess one of those construction type blower/heater combos or a propane heater with blower (these may be one and the same not sure) would work. I would also suggest a thermometer to know what you're up against, as that unheated garage due to lack of insulation can paradoxically be even colder than the outside air with the doors shut.

The Yamaha Blaster is one of my favorite ATV's made. I never got to own one but remember test fitting one back in 95', several years later there was a Honda 300 utility sitting in the driveway for my birthday, I loved that ATV but every time my buddy rode his Blaster and rode circles around me, I wanted that Blaster. haha!

We've always used torpedo heaters in our garages. Which one torpedo heater would heat up a whole 5 semi wide garage in about a hour. Ur shop maybe like 10 minutes. Keep ya warm for a couple hours
@coloradodirtbike5930
@coloradodirtbike5930 3 года назад
Hard starting is from low compression from a worn top and rings, or a messed up cylinder. The wrong jetting will also contribute to a bike that wont start easy in the cold, change the pilot jet (this controls your idle to 1/4 turn throttle range) and adjust the screw accordingly (1.5 turns out as a base line with most bikes). Small adjustments 1/4 turn at a time make a big difference. Once you know your compressions not the issue, your getting spark, getting fuel, and your jetting is dialed in, the bike should start on 1-2 kicks everytime regardless.

Ebay sell the portable diesel heaters bout $150 and cheaper just search "portable diesel heater" on eBay and they they don't burn diesel fast so it's good on fuel and you can look at reviews on youtube about them ,just make sure to have the exhaust on the outside and the vent to for heat run to inside and get a carbon dioxide detector for safe keeps also I heard it's best to run the machine on half or full power

@MakinEndsMeet69
@MakinEndsMeet69 3 года назад
Hi Joe, I hope you had a very merry Christmas you and your family. I would say you don't change enough oil or have enough old oil around to do a homemade oil burner which are very efficient. So I would say a wood burner you have a welder and all that very easy to make and they are very efficient almost completely free as long as you chop your own wood. There is so much wood out there, Deadfall and also people that are willing to pay you to get rid of their trees so that may be a great idea for you. I know about being cold and it's no fun especially when you're trying to work on a vehicle. You should probably make a decent size wood burner out of a 25 gallon oil drum or a big propane cylinder. They actually sell leg and door kits and flu kits at your Menards four different size drums and they're not that expensive. As far as going through the wall you want a double insert so it doesn't create a lot of heat in the wall slot but other than that pretty good to go. I have heated a 40 by 60 shop by using 2 55 gallon drums oh, one on either side of the shop and we had them glowing to start the heat then later on once it warmed up we cut them back but they worked fantastic. Just a thought I know it gets really cold in Wisconsin so I feel for you man.

If you have access to natural gas at your house it would be worth it to trench in a gas line to your shop. A wall mounted natural gas space heater would be quite effective at heating your shop, it looks to be the same size as mine, my shop is 20'x20' and I have a 45,000btu heater, it cooks me out of the shop if I forget to turn it down. There are plenty of variants but ideally you would want a direct vent, standing pilot, heater that just blows a fan over the heat exchanger inside the unit. They can be had for reasonably cheap. If you do not have natural gas where you live you may be on propane or even oil, there are conversion kits which can be specified to include with the unit from manufacturer to convert to propane, the unit will have to be 'rejetted' a lot like a carburetor, a different sized oriface is necessary for the burner, along with a pilot light adjustment and venturi adjustment. I like the way wood heat feels, but put it this way, in BC where I live, minimum wage is almost $15/hr, turn that into an 8 hour day of cutting, splitting, stacking, and cleaning up, you've built up $120 worth of gas you can burn. In an 8 hour day of getting firewood you may only get enough for one month of burn time anyways, most people go through about 5 cords a winter on average. I didn't even include the cost of fuel for saw and truck, insurance on vehicle, and maintenance on saw and truck. Long winded I know, hope this proves to be a good suggestion for you, I like your videos and hope to see one in the future of something I own!

I'm no expert by any means I'm just saying the idle is way to high btw always use a motorcycle oil approved for wet clutches cost a little more but clutch will last longer and won't slip, the red rtv will never hold up between the cases the gas will eat it up and create air leaks, been there with my blaster cost me $1500 to do a full rebuild with all new oem parts. Use yamabond i forgot if its 4 or 5 its the gray stuff the non hardening. Partzilla is a good place for oem replacement parts btw
