Jake, if just the one side is wearing like that check your link pins to be sure they're adjusted. Check for king pin wear, grab top/bottom of tire and shake. Have the old man look underneath to see what moves. If the offset was cool when you installed the spindles, the torsion arm should be good. Make sure tie rods aren't bent too.

Wide Five the link pins are new. After getting everything buttoned up I took it to a local alignment shop. Said my alignment was 2 inches off (whoops, a skill I need to improve) so after the dumbass tax of a set of tires, my problem is solved.

Where do you get the bushings and the reamer. I have a single cab that wonders the road. It’s more like sailing than driving.

Wolfsburg West Sells the center pin and bushing kit. You have to source the reamer another way. You can find them on Amazon or Ebay but you want to make sure you get the right one. There is a thread on the samba about it

Soapy water. It will wash away and not leave a mess. I cringed when you whacked your hand on the window corner. Push, don't whack! I've seen new glass shatter that way.

Question, hope you guys can help. I got a 72 super beetle and for some reason the battery won’t charge up when the car runs , we always gotta jump it and keep it running but once we turn it off and try getting it to start again it won’t start up. Hop you guys can help me out !

What size are the Genral Grabbers you are running on Boomer? 215/75/15 or 205/75/15. I'm shopping for tires for my 63 walk-through standard as I just got my rims back from powder coating. Thanks! VWLife!!

@@VWLifeVW Isn't that only available as a 14 inch tire? ie. 27 X 8.5 X14. Boomer is running 15 inch bus rims. So it has to be a 15 inch tires??? I saw on MAtt Jackson thesamba forum that he put the 27X8.5X14's on the 14 inch bus rims on Helga.

General doesn't show a 27X8.5X15 in their manufacture list of sizes for the grabber AT2 maybe its no longer available. generaltire.com/sites/default/files/tires/files/GT18_Grabber-AT2_Tire_Spec_Pages.pdf Anyway. Seems like the forums on thesamba.com really like the BFGoodrich in size 215/75/15. I've talked to locals who recommend the Grabber but suggested the size 205/75/15. I guess at the end of the day my concern is that the BFG is a load rating "C" tire and the Grabbers are "SL" (standard load) passenger rated. I'm left with 2 questions. Does 215/75/15 create rub or rear tire removal issues over a 205? Do the Grabbers handle as well being of the lower load range design? Love the channel! Thanks.

On Boomer, running 15" Bus wheels, 205-75-15, General Grabbers. I think the 215-75-15 may rub the back fender lip, because it's close with the 205's.

Suggestion - take that reamer and have a Lead diameter ground into it. Starting it straight into the liners will greatly be improved.
