Hi Tom and friends, I like the wood grain of that kuksa, it is easy to understand why you purchased it. The repair of the crack is distinctive: like each of us we have our own blemish but are still useful. Your cutting board and salt and pepper dispenser suit your temperament, so enjoy their use and the delicious food you create. Hello to you all from Greg in Thailand
Hello Tom. Excellent idea to use the resin to repair the small crack in your new Kuksa. It’s a very nice Kuksa and I’m glad you were able to repair it. I really like the salt & pepper container and the new cutting board. They will go very well with the spoons, spatula, fork and Kuksa you have made. You have made a very nice old school cooking kit. You are a man of many talents Tom! I am always inspired by the projects that you come up with and how well you are able to bring them to life. Thank you for sharing your video. Best wishes to you and your family. Have a great week my friend!
Mercy Tom, not only are you very skilled but also very inventive! You give us all inspiration to try our own projects. I guess that I cheat a little because I use a dremel rotary tool at home and work in a shop where I have access to table saws, band saws, etc. Great video my friend, I enjoyed watching and I'm truly impressed. Please tell mrs Tom hello and give Cornelius a good scratch. Thanks Tennessee
Good one Tom, you did a great job on repairing your kuska. That is strait up ol school for sure. That one thing among many that we have in common "ol school" we both love it. I am like you , I repair and reuse and keep on doing it until it is finally no good anymore. Give my regards to your family and please be sure to give Cornelius a big hug for me...... ATB, Keith The Alabama Bushcrafter
Thanks Keith for your kind feedback. Yes we both love the old school style and many people are appreciating it to Thanks for your greetings to my family and Cornelius 🐶 Atb to you and your family 🌤
Nice repair 👍. However, the point of the crack will always be a high stress area and liable to perhaps run further at a later stage. Not aesthetically the best option, but drilling a small hole through the Kuksa slightly in advance to the crack before sealing will stabilise it. Just an idea 😊.
Hello Mr. C The wood grain in that Kuksa is very cool. I hope the repair is strong. The cutting board is great but the salt & pepper is awesome. Always a pleasure to see what your doing. Atb to You and your Wife Hunt
This is so cool! All four things are just great! Very nice job salvaging your Kuksa, it now has some character to it. Salt and pepper shakers are just so neat! Plate is really cool with the handle out of antler and lastly the leather plate cover is typical nice work done by you Tom. VERY COOL my friend! My best wishes to all of you over there, you Tom, Gitte and Cornelius! Bibsoutdoors
Good afternoon from Scotland. As a fellow leathercrafter and "maker of things!" I enjoyed the video …. I particularily liked the salt and pepper pot … that's a cool idea, well done. Stay well and atb Jim
my brother walked into the room right as you were melting the resin on the spoon and he asked me in a very surprised tone "is that dude melting down drugs?!" hahaha. great video, very helpful!
Hola ..eres un genio..como arreglaste. .la kuksa..me encantó también la tabla de madera con su funda ..para cortar verduras ....cada video tuyo me enseña mucho ...Gracias ..por compartir..👍👏
I like the repair! It should be fine for whiskey!!! Such a good looking Kuksa I'm glad you could repair it. I love the other things you've made, you are very creative and do a nice job!
Lovely items Tom ...great idea using the resin to repair the Kuksa ..I have a few cracks in a couple of bowls that I've carved and will give it a try. Thank you buddy 😊🐺
Hello friend! I can give you an interesting idea. :) Collect the resin from the tree, melt it and fill the crack. The resin should keep hot water. When you're soaking the mug, heat it up, too. Then the resin will not cool sharply and will be able to fill the entire gap. Good luck.
Thanks my friend … I’m glad you like the old school look 👍🏻😊 … and as you maybe know all really … I love old school gear 😉 Thanks for your support and feedback
Associated Kuksa's with ice fishing, was a little puzzled when I saw people using them when not ice fishing! I'll own one when I can make one, when time allows.
No sorry Matthew 😊 I don’t make items for sale … but I hope you can be inspired to make your own awesome gear Thanks for your comment and support for my channel 🌤🙏🏻
Well Tom … yes it’s a nice pendant. It’s actually made of 2 items. The Troll cross from Grimfrost grimfrost.com/products/troll-cross-iron?variant=30033771282 And the a Thor’s hammer in brass I’ve had for many many years. I just put them together. … so a unique pendant you can’t buy… but check out Grimfrost … they have a lot of great stuff 👍🏻😉 Atb to you
The repair is holding nicely 👍🏻 but I’ve only used it with cold liquids though 🤔I did carved a Kuksa from a birch log 👌🏻 and you can see it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oAMLkSjrB1c.html Thanks for your feedback and interest in my channel. Hope to see you on the next one 🏕
I always have some resin with me in my belt kit 👍🏻😁 and I collect it from spruce and pine trees 🌲 👌🏻😊 Thanks for your feedback and question See you on the next one 🏕🦌
Cimbrer Bushcraft ahh yeah I know what you’re talking about now. I just found a whole bunch of it on the side of a stump, so I got some now. Thanks man.
Hi Tom, I’m hoping you can help, I e just made my first Kuksa and a love the shape of it but unfortunately it dried too fast and as split. Is there anything that I can use to seal up the hole that will still allow me to drink HOT drinks from it. Thanks as always, Ant 👍
I’m sorry 😏 but not that I know. I’ve fixed one with resin but then I can only use it for cold liquids 🤔 And I’ve tried with plastic wood … but that doesn’t work neither hmmm sorry my friend. You have to have a new one 😊🔥🏕🌲 Tom
Cimbrer Bushcraft ok thanks Tom for replying back to me mate. I’ve cut it back down to the bottom of the crack, it will be a small Kuksa but at least it will still function. That’s again pal 👍
