A couple of observations: you don't need to buy tools (they are actually quite expensive) as you say at the end, just use a wire. I would suggest an old thick knitting needle to open up the lines for the first steps. The only other thing that you should always do is to taper the end of the line before you bury it inside at the last step. Tapering the line makes a big difference to the final strength as you otherwise make a weak point where the internal line ends.
not bad. appreciate the video. other vids are showing that the end of the line (which get burried than) needs to be made thinner. as there is the part the lines than are likely to break. so here is a crucial part missing...
Thanks for the feedback. I know it looks better to make the end thinner. So far I’ve used it in several kite lines without ever having any breaks and i have used those lines in strong winds.
hello, do you know how I can do a professional repair on the burst bladder. I've seen some repairs done with specific machines. but here in Brazil it is very difficult to have access to this information
@@KookProofActivityCenter our bro you know, I would love to know (possess) this strument. I already do several repairs on the bladder, but still very manual and time consuming. could you help me with this, any information helps.
@@johnmaicon63 è uma maquina seladora. Mas tem a ver com o tipo de selagem. O material é um tipo mais industrial que o comum saco de plastico. Recomendaria ir com amostra de material (bexiga) testar esse tipo de maquina.
Thank you for this video. I always wanted to learn how to splice lines so to make short line variations, so I bought the tools you recommended and followed your video. By the second attempt I had success and now feel comfortable to fix and splice any lines I ever break. Thanks again for your video👍🏻👍🏻
Great video but honestly I haven't seen anybody who have had this kind of tools :-). Maybe some qualified service. I'm still a beginner kitesurfer, but it's good to know that you don't have to buy new lines right away.
Thanks for the subscription. Appreciated. If you practice, it is easy. The tools help a lot. You can make your own if you want also. The key advice is don’t pull the tool but instead help the tool to go into the line
I do it a little different. I do the the first mark, then pull it past the second and pull the line through. I find its easier than pulling the loop through the second hole.
I used to do it like that but then i found the line opened. It has to be sown if used that way. If you pull it doesn’t but once the line is slack the eye of the line can open.
If you break 1 line you need to cut all the others to make them have the same length. To connect them you need to make a loop to loop connection. So you will need to make loops in all 4 ends to do this. There is another way to fix it by splicing them together but this method also allows you to shorten the lines if you need it
@@KookProofActivityCenter Pra você ter uma ideia do bem que faz, hoje com uma barra sem uso consertei duas e fiquei cheio de material sobressalente, parabéns mesmo!!! Salvou o velejo...
Kook Proof Activity Center 99% of the time it’s perfect audio, I just thought I’d let you know that only sometimes it sounds like you are in a echo sounding room.
@@robinmordasiewicz thanks. i did notice i had that problem in some videos. i think it's when I'm using the green screen. i still need to improve the acoustic of that place. It will get better.
