Looks like you are having weather like. If they say 5% chance of rain its raining 5% of the time. Nice catch on the purlin spacing. A little misstep, but you will have a stronger roof. That's ok. Good job. Glad that part is about done. Remember, you are pretty much building a big house. Virtually by yourself. With tons of rain. Killing it, Buddy. 👍

Now you know why spacing is “on center”. We learn from our mistakes. Doing great!

Oh yeah. I knew why but sometimes I work faster than I can think or I’m in a rush. Just need to take a step back sometimes.

Matt Resinger, has a youtube thing about "tile roof look". Because I did the roof by myself, there are products that are great, but smaller enough for me to install them by myself.... (just a though to save some money on contractor guys.)

I’ll have to give him a look, but we already have all our materials for the roof and siding.

Just because, you aren't busy all day, take a look at something called "Freight Farm"... instead of dealing with loam, a tiller, fences, and on and on.... your garden can be inside a box.

Ours, is behind the barn, and we also now can give away food to neighbors....

Did you add any diagonal bracing to the walls and trusses and set the framing for level, plumb and square before sheathing the roofs? That can make a huge difference in the ease of "On-Center" framing, as well as stressing the build against wind load and or collapse. I am just about done building a 24x32x12 shop and made some mistakes, too. Your build is so much larger! Kudos for taking on such a huge project by yourself! Thanks for sharing!

So my plans originally called for diagonal bracing but I have windows in the corners where it called for it. Spoke to my designer and he said don’t worry about it since we will be framing it out fully on the inside and tying everything in. It just called for it in the corners though and not all over. Also we did check square. 👍🏻 Congrats on yours!

We need a lot of gravel but I need to add culverts and things first when I do grading. Don’t want to waste anymore gravel than I already have.

Cant you get a refund on that board they cost alot good job you work hard on that all that bending and up and down good job
@TriStarHomestead
@TriStarHomestead 3 месяца назад
I probably could yes. Going to wait to see if I have any others like that and decide. It’s half hour to town each way so if it’s one board (and I can use half still) it might not be worth my time to get the refund.
