We're so relieved you got towed in and are able to get your visa and fix the prop! What a nightmare!! Very smart to have a spare too! Safe travels you two (now three!).
Yosh, your machanical skills are top notch. Bonita, your positive attitude is always refreshing. Tallula, you are growing so fast and the cutest little thing. Marley, we miss you and look forward to you rejoining the family. Thanks for taking us along. All the best.
First time commenting. I’ve been watching you guys for almost 3 years and I love how authentic you are through your ups and downs. Best of all I love how optimistic you stay even in the most frustrating of conditions! Tallulah is so lucky to have you as parents and mentors!
Gosh you two - I am so pleased you are safe. You kept calm and you remained patient and got the job done. Nice work - your story is legendary and a fantastic journal of your lives.
Thanks for sharing this, a lot of us out here in the world think about you folks regularly. I hope you are on your on you way again soon and make it back to Australia safely, and that the winds favor your course.
I'm so glad you guys aren't stuck out at Sea anymore with your boat not working properly. I'm happy you're able to figure out what happened and hopefully you can fix it or get it fixed.
Gday guys, having been watching u for a long time now, wow you have been through some tough times with nanji but u always keep positive and the never give up attitude allows u to do what u love doing. I take my hat off to you, cheers
Well done Josh and Bonita you made a wise decision in how to fix this problem. But 5 weeks getting it done what a saga. Getting vaccinated before coming to Australia another wise move another on would be installing a mesh around safety rails for Talula, then it's home time. Wish you all safe travels
I swear Yosh, you can fix anything! Good, no great job! That James and staff are heros for what they've done for you. Can't say enough good things about them. Hopefully the last of Malasia! Onward!
Wow guys! There’s absolutely nothing the three of you can’t do! I learn from your positive attitudes every week and is a testament on how I want to be more often! Love you guys! Baby T was missed is this episode! Love watching her coo and laugh and play with mama! ❤️❤️❤️
Good news on getting your jab, I’ve just had my booster jab that’s 3 I’ve got now so hopefully protected. Legend James for all he’s done to help. Glad you’re tied up in the marina safe till problem is fixed. Hello from England 🏴 🇬🇧
thank God you got your jab, get boosters when you can and keep baby Talula safe, there's a new variant of concern so be careful out there, Starship Troopers
I can’t believe it took that long to 1, get a fixed blade prop made and 2, to finally receive the parts for the broken one! All the while you are having to pay for a slip at the marina! I pray your patrons were able to take care of some of those extra expenses.
Wow, really, this really turns me OFF non-fixed blade props, for one thing - HOW THE HELL does anything get past quality control with an issue like not a fully threaded bolt. So glad they don't make parts for the aviation industry.
Glad to see that your repairs are completed. We were out for three years and it always seemed to me that cruising was an exercise in risk management and back up plans. You guys handled this issue well I think. Fair winds
Glad to see you are safe & well and legal. A good way to lock a thread is with a second lock nut tightened and applied. against the first nut. I wouldn't trust that retractable prop in a fit. Consider a second motor please?? Good luck - I wish you well.
Phew, you guys are now safe and thanks for the prop update. It looks like that you have cracked the case and ordered the spares and received them. Great to hear that you have now a fixed prop as a spare. The noise that you heard from the old one was probably the retaining nut slowly backing off causing the blade to go out of balance. great to have it fixed legends and you will soon be under way again. As an engineer I know how critical a tab washer is in a position with vibration. Safe passage.
Aren't you lucky that you can do most of this yourself instead of being up on the hard and paying someone to do all the work. Glad to see that you are once again mobile.
Man that was tough sweating out all those issues. I don't think I'd have had the patience. Things have to get better from here. Hope so for your sakes.
Maybe the close proximity of rudder, influences more cyclic movement of the blades, causing more bearing wear, that is of course if the securing arrangement didn't back off. Well of course later we discover that is the case, person who fitted it together must have been dozing if he didn't notice the LH thread bottoming out. Anyway I have vested interest in this as I'm ordering a Autoprop pretty soon.
awsome, do you have a spare fixed prop now??? LOL ..... This same sht happened to Delos,,, and they had a spare prop.... so they lost a couple hours,,,, would have saved you weeks/months,,, spare prop bro!!!
I prefer as little moving parts as possible. More moving parts equals more issues. I would stick to fixed prop. Just my opinion tbough. Happy sailing. I am, as I'm sure you are, very happy to see you sailing again.
