For me it's hard to not overthink when I make my digital illustrations since I want to get an art job. I loose the sense of direction and I feel very unsure about my decisions when I draw 'cause I fear my works won't be good enough for the potential employer. I've been in a state of extreme anxiety and fear for my life for almost a year now, and it's hard to create anything while being in such state.

I'm really sorry to hear that you've been struggling with this. It's a very real and valid way to feel. However, you do yourself and your work no real good by letting it take over! My best advice for attracting clients and work is to just keep going and keep making what YOU want to see. If you get jobs based on things you think other people want, after all, then you'll end up hating the jobs you get. Art is difficult enough as it is, so you might as well enjoy the work you get. Find what truly makes your heart sing, do that, do it lots and keep showing it, eventually you will find people who love it too (and for money!) 😊💜

@@ysvyri thank you for supporting words. I guess I just long for stability and safety in my life... Sadly they don't teach how to be an independant artist at school. And I have a lot of personal issues ontop of that.. But I will try to not loose hope. I can not leave art behind anyway, so I have to push through 🌱

For what it's worth, I believe in you! There are a lot of artists who've made it as an indie and/or freelance artist that are coping themselves with lots of personal things in their lives - don't lose hope! You can do it! @@RimmoKenro

There must be something connecting artists and their minds in this universe. Just today I was overthinking about overthinking, then stressing about how much over thinking it was to overthink the thinking😂

It seems to be like that on a everyday basis but no matter of what it is in all in good honesty I want to do art just for fun not seeking out a higher standard like algorithms or profiting off my art I just simply wanted to make art solely because I want to do it for fun

As someone who creates things using Daz, CSP, and Rebelle, sometimes using all three in one project, while being pretty sure I'm using them all wrong, I have a healthy respect for your apparent skill level with PS!! I do occasionally overthink things, but I'm delighted to be a member of even that dubious club, since it makes me co-members with you!! If we meet in person, will you sign my arm with your Huion pen? My inner "art guy" is like the "I'm gonna paint a SEVEN!" guy from Sesame Street a few years ago, so art is where I go to get away from overthinking. Congrats on finding a way to tune out the toxic distractions. (I mostly just decline alerts on my phone.) btw that pic you're working on in this is amazing! It's great to hear that it's strictly for funzies. Your hatchet gal seems like a pretty interesting character.

Yet again, you post a video on a topic I'm currently working on myself, even down to limiting social media usage! It was also beautiful to see you work on something just for the fun of it. Just FOR YOU. In today's world, art has lost it's original purpose thanks to these algorithms and formulas. Art is self expression. It's not self expression if it's FOR your followers or to get views and likes based on what others are doing. That's just copying what you think they'd like to see. Many artists I've seen lately are starting to notice this too, so hopefully we can start to shift things back to a healthier way of creating.
@ysvyri
@ysvyri 7 месяцев назад
Hah! What a coincidence! It's heartening to hear that the topic of limiting social media usage resonated with you. Your observations about creating art purely for oneself are spot on. In a world driven by algorithms and metrics, it's refreshing to be thinking of art as a form of self-expression again, without external validation. I really hope to see more of it! Here's to reclaiming the pure joy of making art for ourselves. Thank you for sharing your thoughts! 🎨😊

This video is a wonderful reminder of what matters when creating. Your piece is fantastic, and I'm in love with the landscapes you were showing, too! My main block is related to the matter of social media presence, I'm never sure how to interact with other artists for fear of being alienating. At the moment, what gets my creative juices free from overthinking is going solo for a moment, creating just for my pleasure, regardless of views. Thank you so much for this pause!
@ysvyri

Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm delighted to hear that the video resonated with you and served as a reminder of what truly matters when creating. It's completely understandable to feel uncertain about navigating social media interactions with other artists. Remember, your art is ultimately an expression of yourself, so staying true to your own vision is what matters most. Keep following your passion! And I hope you can find a way to connect with other artists that feels comfortable in the future. Wishing you continued joy and inspiration on your creative journey! ✨

I definitely needed this today, since I've been talking myself out of drawing for days which has been really frustrating. Probably due to a mix of not thinking I'm skilled enough or no one will care as you said. Time to prove my brain wrong!
@ysvyri
@ysvyri 7 месяцев назад
Amazing! Prove those thoughts wrong! 😊💜 I also find that a good counter to not drawing because you don't feel "good enough" is remembering two things; 1. That you won't improve without drawing and 2. That there will always be people ahead of you and behind you, you are only running the race with yourself! I hope that's helpful!

I have been taking a part of this year to deconstruct some of my digital habits now that I want to maximize what free time I do have! Finding the difference between the bursts of creativity versus the draining of it because of unhealthy comparisons or distracting/disruptive algorithms rings true to me. 🙂

I'm so glad if my video can help those who are struggling, even just a little!
@cyinkyphoenix5772
@cyinkyphoenix5772 7 месяцев назад
@@ysvyri My approach to it is to express my thoughts through paintings solely for myself as a form of liberation and reflection. Then share it in hope that it can help inspire someone else, comfort or just make them think about the theme. I feel that artists are just living oxymorons. We are so egoistic in our expression yet we seek to make an impact in others life with our creations. During the creation process i usually ignore social media and do my own thing cause it messes up the dopamine level, also posting and replying is too distracting/time consuming and interacting with others is a bit draining sometimes. When i have enough work i share them. As we all know this method is not really appreciated by the algorithm. It's hard to find a balance, but in the end it's all about mentality.
@ysvyri
@ysvyri 7 месяцев назад
@@cyinkyphoenix5772 That sounds like a good introspective approach to your art. It's wonderful to hear how you use painting as a personal outlet and for reflection, and then extend that gift to others through sharing. The idea of artists being living oxymorons is an interesting one - although it could be perceived as our innate desire to connect with others more authentically, and have a deeper level of understanding - after all, they are resonating with our true expressions. Finding that balance between staying true to your creative process and navigating the demands of algorithms can be challenging, but I think if the way you're working preserves your authenticity then keep doing what you're doing :)
