Oh wowwwwaa! Just wonderful to watch YOU explaining. I was gggling all the time watching a bouncing leeping puppy BUT SUPER OBEDIENT and HAPPY. You are a great dog trainer and I'm sure my 15 month Newfie who behaves the same as your excited puppy would LOVE to do these exercises. She is a dynamite 56 kilos and over excited when it comes to HOMEWORK. This would calm her down a little. She is not a "competition" dog but a water rescue dog. It's "ugly" to have a hotdog in my mouth but this is the only way to have eye contact during short walks. In fact this is my 3rd Newfie. The 2nd got a stroke at the age of 15 and I had to say goodbye to her on 26th June 2018. Thanks for taking the time to film and post your videos on RU-vid. LOVE and hugs to your faithful paws. Mr/mrs Camerman did a great job in filming. Thankyou.
Luca's shoulder should be right in line with your thigh. That way the dog learns to learn turns by turning head to touch your thigh.Mind you that is purely for high level competitive heelwork . Luca reminds me of my 12 year old Border collie she is still as excited about working :).Really like your dedication and the fact you enable comments and don't just show the before and after like so many trainers on YT. Great job : )
Very informative easy to understand video.....Please do you have a link to the ball you used in the video. It looks like a better texture than regular solid balls. Thanks
@@Specwinclean haha, I've put so much training into my doge too, people tell me he's like this but I guess I just don't realise because I always see areas for improvement
My dog gets grabby over food and wont work for toys not sure what to do, ive tried to teach gentle when taking food and eye contact, impulse control which he does fine when putting his normal food down and when i leave my food about he wont touch it but soon as foods about for training he loses all attention on me and wants to grab the treat bag on my hip or bites my hands to snatch the food but isnt learning the behaviour i want because he is only doing the behaviour by being lured, remove even one treat once and he goes back to being confused or just bored and wanders off i cant phase them out without losing the behaviour. I practised the touchpad for weeks and still cant get him to do the behaviour by asking he looks at me confused and wanders off, lure him up onto it and hes does it but one time i try with just my hand gesture and nothing.
When your dog is at heel would u give another comarned for example " Luca Heel then say "wait" so u can throw reward then relees him" or heel throw ball" with out saying wait ?
You supposed to start with them at 6 weeks. My rottweiler 4 1/2 months and he can do all the basic obedience. I'm training him for protection so we still have a long way to go
i see what you mean. I think Larry Krohn actually explains way more in a simpler way.It easier for most people to understand. Forrest Micke does a lot more with his competitive heeling and he's more detailed, but all the information can be overwhelming if you're just beginning

Dreadz ENT if you go back you can watch videos of him untrained as well as my shepherd pup. This video is for people that have problems with their heeling, not how to teach the heel. That’s a different video
