Fixing Rust On Jeep TJ Project 4 Banger 

I am currently working on my own rust project on my TJ and making a small series of videos on it. Its a big project! It's good to see other people working to save their Jeeps as well

You should drill some drain holes on the frame in front of the rear lower control arm and behind the forward lower control arm. The 97-02 had problems with rotting and those drain holes solve the issue. I drilled mine I did 1/2 inch holes 4 of them

I have 3 rusted rusted floor supports where the frame mounts connect, I've been putting it off for a while, I really don't want to do it

Fill your frame with diesel! It can not rust if you fill it once a year. As for the body, it's a pain in the ass. Been working on my Tj for many months now. Got the body off the frame so I can access everything. My 2000 jeep tj from MN with 163k miles had no holes in the frame yet. So I'm good there. Painting the outside and dieseling the inside. For the body It has rust in the torque boxes on either side. Look up this part if you are unfamiliar so you can check yours. fill those up with an oil aswell. Next I have some rust rot in my driver floor board. The area that is directly above my drivers side torque box. It's rusting from boths sides. And lasty I have rust rot (when I say rot i mean holes are begining to form in the sheet metal at the least) in my rear drivers side fender well. Go to the front of the fender well and directly above where the torque box ends it has eaten some holes into the cab. It you were looking from inside the cab it would be the spot behind the drivers seat, behind where the roll bar attaches to the floor. It you are proactive in stopping surface rust then it wont get this far. I bought the jeep this year to teach myself how to work on vehicles. Been decent so far. If you have any questions just ask.

Buy the frame repair pieces from rust buster and take it to a shop to have it welded I did mine myself but i have a friend that’s a certified welder and I’m really happy with them

I hope you give an update as to how the Fluid Film performs. I use Eastwood internal frame spray for my JK. I haven't had any issues.

I have the same problem where the plate holder is on my jeep too and I fixed it last year but i had to redo it again this year.

I recently purchased a 05 TJ. Has some frame surface rust id like to remove like this before coating. Would you be able to tell me what angle grinder bit and drill brush your using? (Not super mechanical but trying to learn)

Your soo good at fixing stuff and making it look nice you should consider buying cars and doing minor repairs and flipping them for profit. You could get added content out of it also for your channel.

Thinking about doing this to my TJ. Is there any places you should avoid spraying fluid film? Like brake lines or fuel lines?
