holy crap dude! Your first suggestion worked! I can't believe it! After all the time I spent doing all kinds of stuff to my new phone! Then your number 1 suggestion, the easiest one, worked on my S-10 Note +! Thanks buddy! You rock! Blessings to you and yours!
it really is surprising when a simple reboot (even if you already know a restart has been done recently) can help fix something like bluetooth connection issues. thanks so much for this comment, I'm happy to see the video was able to help you

Thanks for taking the time to explain all of this and make a video. I've tried all of the suggestioned several times, updated my phones software and also spent over an hour on the phone to Samsung support trying to troubleshoot it, but to no avail. My problem is that my phone connects to my cars head unit (VW Amarok 2016 model) for calls and contact sync but won't connect for 'Audio', the toggle tries to switch on but then immediately turns off. I suspect it is a bug in Samsungs software or firmware that makes the new model phones incompatible with older head units or other BT devices. The Samsung tech said that they have had quite alot of similar complaints and that they are working on fixing it, so lets hope that find the bugs and resolve them, before I have to go an buy a new head unit....
Same here. Does anyone know why it would be greyed out? I switched to an S22 Ultra from an S20+5G which had no Bluetooth connectivity issues and now I am having to manually repair with the same Pioneer deck everytime I get in the car 😥
Audio would turn off or stop/start when phone was locked, using my Enacfire Bluetooth headset. JVC headset worked fine. I changed the Bluetooth Audio Codec to AAC and the problem went away. Great video, thx for the help.
THIS WORKED! For my s10+ It was cleaning the cache and memory that did it for me! I have liked, commented and subscribed. You the best, tank you so much! ♥♥♥
My bluetooth was connected to my car, and I was able to hear the callers but my voice was not going through. Resetting the network worked for me, thank you!
Thank you very much. I had some issues when I did a Smart Switch to a new android device. Most of my apps have had to be reinstalled as well, but luckily the data carried over. Its no surprise that the bluetooth stuff got wonky too. My Skullcandy Earbuds wouldn't show up at all, but after the reset, they pop up. (Samsung earbuds are way better by the way, less glitchy on noise canceling) Thanks again man.
Thanks very much for this vid. I had to reset all my network settings which was a pain, but I finally got my headphones connected. Thanks again, I'd looked everywhere for a fix.

Problem I have is both my Windows PCs will pair with my S22 Ultra but once done, the S22 simply says 'couldn't connect' - it's the same with both PCs. I've tried all the suggestions but nothing works. Don't suppose anyone has any further suggestions, please?
I'm having the same issues when I connect to speakers and car audio. It stops and plays. It doesnt do it a lot but music is not constant. My biggest problem is with the bluetooth keyboard lagging. On my note 9 the keyboard was perfectly responsive. On the 22 ultra, it lags, its slow and it skips letters. Very frustrating cause I use it for work. I've tried everything on this video except resetting to factory mode. Just cant believe you'd have to delete so much to fix one simple bluetooth issue. Unbelievable. Thanks for your help.
Thank you so much for these tips! I've been trying to connect my S22+ phonebook with my 2017 Chevy Equinox because for some reason, it can't connect the phonebook, but it connects fine for playing music and making phone calls. I'm hoping these tips will work!
The app that is only labeled Bluetooth was found but under Storage, the option to clear cache and data were both grayed out not allowed to clear cache and data.
Accidently unpaired from my car. So I had to think like my car is a bluetooth headset. I tried the first step and it worked so hopefully when I go back to my car, I'll change my name on my phones bluetooth and will get it reconnected. Thanks!! I was going around my phone trying to look for a way. Hopefully when their done doing the updates to the one UI by the end of this year they will get the phone to have those options more easily available to access or the new android update. I'm using the S22+.
I have a brand new S22+ with a strange problem. When I use bluetooth headphones, and someone calls or texts me, the ringtone and notification sound come through the phone speaker rather than the headphones. My S9 that I just upgraded from, did not do that. When BT headset was connected, all sound was piped through headphones. Is there any way to fix this? I've tried multiple bluetooth headsets just to make sure it wasn't the headset.
My phone connects to my car perfectly fine, but when I make a phone call through Bluetooth I can hear the other person perfectly fine but they can't hear me at all. It's like my mic isn't even turned on when I talk. Any ideas? It does this on Bluetooth and plugged in through the USB on android auto
THANK YOU! I only had to reset my bluetooth to make if finally pair with a new set of buds! Yes, I'll have to pair my other devices again, but a small price to pay.
that's great to hear! thanks for letting us know which suggestion helped fix the issue your phone was having If you're able to, please consider becoming a RU-vid channel member here - www.youtube.com/@ExplainingAndroid/join
Anyone else get super warped, low, distorted sound? Turning my phone off and on again always fixes this but it's a hassle to do every time I connect to a Bluetooth device
My phone toggles off the audio when it auto connects to my car stereo, but allows calls and everything else. I have to manually switch the toggle over for audio every time I turn the car back on. Any ideas on that? I've paired and unpaired, deleted the cache and all of that. Thanks.
Hey I have tried just about everything, here. What do I do if I am unable to clear cache and data from my bluetooth system app? For me these options are shaded out, and unavailable. Is there something I need to enable first to make such changes? I am already in developer mode
Did you ever get your phone fixed? We are having the exact same issue and I just got this phone yesterday....havent been able to do much bluetooth wse. pls help.
@petert696 yes. Nothing was showing up. I got a thumb drive and took about 20 gigs of video and pixtoff and voila! My things magically started to appear the next day. I guess it took time to catch up....all of my messages and pictures didn't transfer but I was fine with that. I'm sorry.
So quick Question. My husband has a s22+, we use spotify for our music. However when he goes to listen through his Lenovo earbuds, it still plays through the phone. We have a verizon phone. Im just at a loss here D:
there is a setting that controls how the audio is put out. you could also look into the 'sound assistant' app from the Galaxy Store to see if there's a setting in there as well
I wish you would warn people what the repercussions of resetting your networks is. My Samsung 4 watch has to be totally reconfigured again which is probably going to take an hour to download all the apps and crap I have to do. Even after I reset the network my Bluetooth still doesn't work. Be a little more careful when you're telling people to do stuff so haphazardly.
Or figure the shit out on ur own he doesn't have to tell u shit it's helped everyone else and we all know the disclaimer on any videos that they're not responsible for any damages or any resetting there's always that one person
because android now prevents it with the bluetooth app. you should watch through my Galaxy S23 bluetooth video. or my google pixel 7 bluetooth video. in those videos I talk about other methods of clearing cache/app data for bluetooth app services
Unfortunately restarting the phone did not work. Going into the Bluetooth app under systems, I am unable to clear the cache or date either. My major problem is I can no longer see the option to pair new device under Bluetooth. My airpods pro would no longer connect with my phone so I unpaired them and now cannot pair them. It appears that I cannot pair any new device since pair new device option does not show up. Is there a cure to get that back?
that's great to hear! thanks for letting us know that this video worked and was helpful :) If you're able to, please consider becoming a RU-vid channel member here - www.youtube.com/@ExplainingAndroid/join
My samsung s22 ultra wont let me clear the cache or change to AAC. I'm guessing this is what i need because my car is a 2017 and has older firmware for bluetooth. Is there something else I can do?
look for my updated bluetooth fix guide on the Galaxy S23 or GAlaxy S24. that will be updated with the new methods (android 14 no longer has the bluetooth app)
On my new S21 when I pair the phone to my Windows PC Bluetooth, I get connected, and I can establish a call. But, the Phone Link app tells me that the phone is not connected, and I can't access the phone's screen, download calls, et. I notice in Device Manager when I pair the phone that two drivers pop up in Device Manager under "Other Devices", which means they are not the right drivers I presume. They are named IcService_New and SMS/MMS, both with ? marks on the icon. I have Googled this a lot tonight and can't find anything on it. Any ideas? Thanks for your thoughts.
let me know if this helps. . . 1) On your Samsung Music app, tap on the more options icon and then select the “Settings”. 2) Turn off the “Allow external devices to start playback” switch.
So ive got a base galaxy s22, and i bought the galaxy buds pro, and I literally cant even have my phone in my pocket because it skips and loses signal. Ive done all of these tips with no help
some of the suggestions are the same. but some of them that I mention in my S23 bluetooth fix video are new. so let me know if any of them help - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oKKmOCvu5-A.html
I think my bluetooth problem can't be helped. I tried everything and nothing works... It just works for 10-15 mins then goes back to being cracky for hours.
My phone works with everything in the car except calls. if I call someone I can hear them but they can't hear me. I then have to turn off Bluetooth on my phone and just talk to them on speaker phone. same issue with android auto. if i ask google assistant to "call husband" it looks like it's thinking and then nothing happens. But everything else works perfectly such as Spotify and maps. Anyone else have this issue? Tried with my husband's phone and same thing is happening. I have gone though all the troubleshoots, took car battery out for a few hrs as well. I have an appointment to bring my car to the dealer next week because idk what else to do to fix this.
My problem is a bit different. I have no issues syncing Bluetooth to other devices, BUT while connected to my car's Bluetooth, I get NO NOTIFICATION SOUNDS. My phone will vibrate, but no audio. The phone works well, but when I use voice to send a text, it does not take over from the radio. I have checked everything, I think! Galaxy S22 Ultra
@@ExplainingAndroid bluetooth headset that i made myself. I've been using this bluetooth device for a year now using vivo phone. I switched to S22 two weeks ago, and the bluetooth connectivity is so horrible. That's why i came upon your youtube video.
that's how the new version of Android is. i recommend you watch my updated Galaxy S23 bluetooth video as it shows you how to work around this issue. the video is on my channel in the Galaxy S23 playlist
sadly, the Android 13 update seems to have blocked us from doing that step anymore. however, if you reset network connections (something else I mention in the video) then that may be enough to fix the issue you're having
On my s22 ultra I had no issues, on my s23 ultra my headphones only automatically connect when I have calls enabled, I only want audio. When I turn on my headphones I get a message on the phone that they couldn't connect, I have to tap on them in the Bluetooth menu. Anyone having that issue?
I can pair and connect. But extremely annoyinly sound coming through phone as well. Rebooted phone×3 no fix. Unpaired and repair 5× no fix. Remove all other paired devices. Unpaired repair 10 times. No fix.
Same here. Per author, @ExplainingAndroid, "sadly, the Android 13 update seems to have blocked us from doing that step anymore. however, if you reset network connections (something else I mention in the video) then that may be enough to fix the issue you're having", "check out my updated Galaxy S23 bluetooth fix video. it shows a way to workaround that issue", "..android now prevents it with the bluetooth app. you should watch through my Galaxy S23 bluetooth video. or my google pixel 7 bluetooth video. in those videos I talk about other methods of clearing cache/app data for bluetooth app services"
I have that problem. After Android 12 update. I may have to factory reset my phone. Well, i need to update anyway. I will buy Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. My phone is old.
What if none of these things fixed the bluetooth issue? I can listen to music with my headset and in my car. But phone calls dont have audio in or out.
hrmm, I don't use bluetooth for phone calls but I may be able to help with more information I can't guarantee that I'll be able to help solve this particular issue, but if you're wanting 1-to-1 dedicated support then I will need you to join the Direct Support tier of the RU-vid membership system - www.youtube.com/@ExplainingAndroid/join After that, you can use the Support Thread I created (which helps me to follow up along the way) and it will allow me to dedicate some time and attempt to work through the issue with you
Unfortunately, none of this worked for me, but there is definitely some great info here, and I've seen reports of these things working for many. My problem is that bluetooth audio keeps cutting out intermittently, but only when WiFi is enabled. As soon as I turn off WiFi, audio is clear and uninterrupted.
