Just came by to say thank you! I followed your advice and it didn't work.. I looked a bit closer and it looked like one of the buttons had actually come a bit loose. So I added some solder and it works again :D
Thanks bro. Fixed my steelseries side button using this video. The actuator in my front side button was jammed in, caused some horrible behaviour in windows. Once I had the little board out I could see the switch was jammed in, it looked like the side of the Kailh housing was jamming it. I ran a needle along the side of the actuator to lift out the housing material that was up against the button. That freed the button up, and I scraped the now extra material off of the actuator housing with a penknife. Reassembly was straightforward. Is there a trick to getting the mouse feet to stick back down nicely?
Great to hear! The mouse feet usually don't go on as nicely once they're removed. I usually "put up" with it, but ultimately I think the fix is a fresh set of feet each time :(
Can you make a video on how to fix side buttons that popped out because one of my buttons popped out and I think you will get way more views because a lot of peoples buttons pop off thanks if you can ;)
i got a mad dog gm 700 mouse and one of the mouse sidebuttons went inside the mouse, would you be able to tell me how to fix it? cause i dont have money for a new one
@@MAxAMILLIoN757 double clicking might be an issue with the interal switch itself. I know keyboard switches get something called "bounce" when the contacts are a bit dirty. If realigning it does fix it, maybe a quick spray with some contact cleaner inside the switch might help
is this gonna fix loosey buttons like If I press and hold my mouse side buttons mouse button5 it presses two times or if hold long for three times also?
Hey,I have a problem with my mouse...the two side buttons work perfectly when clicked but one of them doesn’t work when I hold down the left click,u have any solution for this?
Damian Kidd no it’s fine with both left and right clicks pressed at the same time, that’s working fine.but the problem is that when I hold down the left click and press one of the side buttons,it doesn’t respond
Strange. Really not sure what causes that. Maybe a short in the circuit board making that happen, in which case I don't think it'll be a fix it yourself solution. Still in warranty?
Hello, i need some help, ive opened the mouse but im too scraed to pull the thing out so i can take the screws out, ive seen you are pulling it from the wires but i dont wont to ripe them apart, any tips i would love some?
The plugs are in there reasonably firmly. If you grab all the wires as close to the plug as possible, and pull in line with the plug, it should be fine
Probably depends on your country's laws, and if your mouse is under warranty and these buttons stop working I'd suggest reaching out to SteelSeries to replace it. Having said that, doing this isn't really removing or breaking anything, so I would assume it would still be covered, however again, I'd check your local laws.
I took apart my Steelseries rival 600 and there was no bents or anything wrong on the inside. But it still doesn't work unless I press super hard enough... Do you know how to fix this?
Sounds like the actual switch itself might be janky. Possibly replace it (which might be a big job) or getting some switch cleaner in there might be the go. I've got another one here with a dead switch too, might try and make a video in pulling it apart and cleaning it to see if I can bring it back to life.
Damian Kidd my button 6 on my rival 600 doesn’t work for extra buttons in game but I set it to volume and it worked please help my other side buttons work just not button 6
