Question on running with this slip fix strategy after 2 yrs sealed (and not liking how slick it is). I followed the exact method shown, used the rejuvenator since it’s only been 2 years, the Wagner with 40 grit and the roller. You mentioned a second coat in this video to really lock it in, but I’m not sure if that also applies to the rejuvenator? Do I apply a second coat of rejuvenator? If so, do I also spray more grit and/or use the roller again? Just want to make sure my application method will optimize slip resistance and be durable so there’s no slick patches someone may not expect. The grit seems like it may easily wear off from test rubbing it with a finger tip. We have a hot tub and ashler slate so really want this to be done right. Any guidance is appreciated! Cheers from Cleveland!
Another coat of rejuvenator is unnecessary unless you are unhappy with the current grip. Using the grip with rejuvenator was the best option you had, but it you may want to reapply as needed. It will lock in better when the concrete is in need of fresh sealer.
Hi so we just got our stamped concrete sealed about two weeks ago. It’s very slick. I don’t think the installers put enough grit or a heavier grit down My kids are falling. What would be the best solution for me right. Now?
Thanks for the comment! Do you know what sealer was used, and how many coats were applied? If it was a solvent-based acrylic sealer, it is possible to re-emulsify the sealer with Rejuvenator and cast more grip into the tacky sealer. This can be a bit tricky if you don't have any experience with it, but it is an option. Depending on how much sealer was applied, adding another coat with more grip would not be recommended, as too much sealer can cause problems down the road. The sealer will wear down with time and become less slippery on its own. You should notice a difference within a few months, but It's just hard to say exactly how long this will take. I'll leave a link to the Rejuvenator page on our website below. Hopefully, this helps! We use the medium (yellow) tip for the gun in this video. We also have a battery-powered option, so you don't have to worry about keeping the cord out of the way. Use the medium tip for that gun as well. I'll leave a link to the page on our website. Thanks for watching!!! www.deco-cretesupply.com/products/sealer-additives-sprayers/deco-grip-sprayer
Thanks for the comment! Unfortunately, this sealer will not bond to polyaspartic, nor will any other acrylic concrete sealer. Here's a link to another video on concrete sealers vs coatings. Thanks for watching Deco-Crete TV!!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dSz71y4uKcU.html
Chapin's pump-free, compressor-charged concrete sprayer has a pressure fitting for air supply. Combine with Makita's Cordless Inflator Kit for a pump free seal! Thanks for watching Ben and keep up the awesome videos!
Thanks for the comment! The broadcasting technique in this video this work well on a basketball court. However, some of this would depend on how the concrete was finished. A light broomed finish is usually the best, and you might not even need the grip. If the concrete was finished fairly smooth, I would recommend the Deco-Grip 40 broadcasted out of the gun. D1 could work on natural stone but is made for concrete. D-Shield Clear is the best water repellant for natural stone: www.deco-cretesupply.com/products/water-based-sealers/d-shield-clear
We were using the Chapin Evolution sprayer in the video. The sealer we were using is pretty thin, so that helps to. Sealers up to 20% solids will spray great out of these sprayers. Anything between 20%-30% will spray, but not nice. This is part of the reason why back rolling so important. You can always thin your sealer down a little bit to help it spray better, if you want. Awesome video! Two Questions: What setting for the power sprayer is recommended on the 40 grit or similar (Pool Deck) and do you broadcast again during second coat or just during the first coat?
Awesome video! If using the 100 grit, can that be put through a pump sprayer for a small residential project? Or will the grit clog the sprayer nozzle?
Thanks for the comment! All you need is the Chapin Evolution sprayer, a battery powered air compressor, and a small ratchet strap. We used the Makita brand air compressor, I'll leave a link to the page on our website for the sprayer. Great video! Have been looking for solution to our slippery pool deck. Where do you find the broadcaster? Will definitely try this. Thanks. Edit. Nvm. Found it.
Did you end up doing this? I’m currently looking for a solution to our slippery pool deck and can’t find anyone that does this technique, may have to do this myself
You can get them on our website, I'll leave a link. Thanks for watching!!!! www.deco-cretesupply.com/products/overlay-tools-liquid-metals-tools-safety-products/shoe-pro-finish-spikes
I sealed my concrete salt finish pool deck with glaze and seal and my son slipped when wet I really made a big mistake was hoping to get some help on how to fix my problem
The best thing you could do would be to wait a year or two until the concrete needs resealed and then add the anti-slip to your new coat. An immediate solution would involve melting or stripping the current sealer which is much more labor intensive and risky.
