Not any different than in early 90's when they won Superbowls JJ wanted speed on defense. Their biggest Dlineman Russell Maryland was 300lbs and MLB Ken Norton was 240. That's only 2 players The rest were smaller and faster .

Cowboys run defense got exposed during the 2018 regular season. After they’d been on a decent run they ran into the got and got run all over. Then when they went to the playoffs in that season the Rams run game did a number on em. Ever since they never really addressed run defense and it persistently keeps coming up yr after yr becuz the front office doesn’t value high end DTs. Then when they finally addressed it during the 1st rd and got Mazi, he was a bad pick. Which I think will only add fuel to their fire of not valuing DTs. And this issue will rollover for another couple of years.
