Yes, true but the level of refinement drops, I don't care about the occasional extra, what I want is the overall improvement. You cannot have one without the other!

@@robadams2451 Yep, that's true, because upscaling should cover three topics - it should upscale, repair and improve.

It's based on the process I use in photoshop, many Comfy users aren't fluent, or can't afford Photoshop. For photoshop you have to pay, in comfy it's free. Once set up it is also quicker for simple stuff.

@@robadams2451 I would suggest an opensource photo editor like Krita which you could link it with Comfy UI by an addon. This addon adds feature like generative fill in Photoshop to Krita. You can also use features like controlnet, IP-Adapter composition/style, inpant/outpaint, and etc. Thank you for you reply. 😄

I have found it works fine on other proportions at the default settings no side can be less than 1024, if a side is less then the feather must be 32 pixels. but there is no real point in using a tiled upscale for small images as an ordinary upscale would be better. I don't use it for images less than 1536.

@@robadams2451Oh that might be the reason why. Sometimes I tile upscale 768 width. So ill let you know if that is the problem.

@@dadadies The other reason to not use a tiled upscale on a small image is the resolution of the tiles is then a bit too small for the sampler to process, unless maybe you are using SD1.5

@@robadams2451 I dont know why but McBoaty is working really good now... Even with smaller size images. Its much faster than Ultimate SD Upscale and is occasionally better in quality. Thanks for sharing your work. Its good to have a different way to tile upscale.
