Fixing the WORST Taunts in Smash Ultimate

I just wish they'd kept the voice lines from Sonic's Brawl taunts. Honestly, "You're too slow!" and "Come on, step it up!" are so much more fitting to his personality. I mean sure, they at least kept the "Come on!" part of that one, but completely replacing the other with "Sonic speed!" was a huge mistake. I legitimately cringe every time I hear it. Literally one of the first mods I installed was fixing that taunt's dialogue.

One taunt we 100% got robbed was Sonic’s “your to slow” and “come on! Step it up” taunt, bro I miss those so much

5:25 Fun Fact: Wolf's voice actor is the same as Brawl's. He was given a different voice direction entirely (with the exception of the howl which has the echo removed from it)

Please, make this a series. There are so many characters with wasted potential when it comes to taunts. I'd love to see more

That REGULAR Samus taunt is incredibly tilting though. It’s like she’s mocking mario, 10/10

It would’ve been so cool and unique if for Joker’s down taunt specifically (the one where Joker turns away from the camera with his gun in his hand and poses), it could cycle through each member of the Phantom Thieves in order of joining the party to pose with Joker. The first time the button is pressed can be with Morgana as usual, the next time it can be with Ryuji, the third can be with Ann, the fourth can be with Yusuke, the fifth can be with Makoto, the sixth can be with Futaba (outside the final smash), the seventh can be with Haru, the eighth can be with Akechi while Joker looks back angrily and finally the ninth time can be Joker posing with Sumire while smiling back at her and then the cycle loops back to Morgana the next time the down taunt button is pressed. Plus it can be a reference to the confidant menu in P5 where Joker is looking back at the confidant in the menu screen.

Imagine if Link shield breaks you and he takes a photo before killing you

Still sad that we never got to hear Roger's iteration of "You're too slow" and "Come on, step it up". Some of the most toxic taunts in Brawl, and then they removed the in Sm4sh, as well as a lot of personality from Sonic. Hope those two taunts return in Smash 6.

I really wish Bowser said "Showtime" in one of his taunts like how he does in Bowser's Inside Story. It's a raw as hell voice line

Personally feel like Futaba should have gotten at least a voice line in one of Joker's taunts. I get that she's the navigator, but the fact that she isnt on Mementos AND she has to share half of the Final Smash voice clips with Morgana, who is already all over the place... yeah.

He hath cooked, but I have one question . . . nothing for Ridley doing a second idle pose? (He stands up for one of his taunts and its funny but a bit boring. Prob a reference tho, I didn't play metroid.)

You need to add hitboxes to some of these taunts, Simon doing the whip and killing you would be HILARIOUS.

As a link main, a selfie would be hysterical as you fly off into the distance or before we do a bomb to spike commbo.

the coolest part of taunts has got to be the fact that Incineroar auto-taunts after landing certain moves which makes sense for its showboating nature

Glad to see you like taunts as much as I do in this game. My personal faves were the ones you gave to Snake (he defenitly needed more unique ones) and the one you gave for Ivysaur.

I wouldv'e liked if one of wolf's taunt lines was his "you're good but I'm better", feel like that would have added a bit more character

5:23 Cool thing is, Wolf’s voice actor actually stayed the same in both Brawl and Ultimate. They unfortunately didn’t keep any of his previous takes other than the howl, but it’s understandable since they wanted him to sound completely different. Down taunt was a crime though.

Idea: This may go against your moral code, but K.Rool's down taunt could be spiced up a bit. It is LITERALLY THE SAME as the down tilt, do at least something more could be good

Maybe not a taunt per se, but Joker needs something similar to Palutena’s guidance with the Phantom Thieves. The chemistry that the Phantom Thieves have is great and hearing a new interaction for each character in the game would be amazing!

Luigi's freaking ground kick is somewhat stronger then actual swords and that's why he's the best Mario character

Giving Daisy the spicy ass taunt was bar none the best one: made her look badass AND adorable at the same time. I especially loved the little detail where she has to fan her hand because she burned herself ON HERSELF. THAT'S classy, I love it.

The funny thing, Wolf has the same VA in Brawl and Ultimate but they went for a different voice direction hence getting rid of the iconic "What's the matter, scared?" but seeing this is nice.

If you decide to make a part 2 or even a series out of this, I definitely recommend Bowser for the next part. They did him dirty with his basic ass taunts. Literally one of them is just a teetering animation

The fact that you (or someone at least) actually animated these is really neat! A lot of these I would take over the official taunts even though they naturally aren't at the same level of polish.

Impressive animation. I would personally add a pikachu taunt that flashes between Raichu and back, basically temporally using the thunderstone. Could be a neat idea with a little flash. Would mean me having to learn animating, but I can use that for other projects as well, so it is just a first project type.

A Joker taunt referencing the beginning of the game when he Jumped through the window with Ann’s “what a show off” line would be fucking awesome

Amazing video~ Daisy's "hot stuff" taunt would be giga perfect. There's even a mod out there where this taunt was implemented and the longer you held it the steam from Daisy's ass would actually ignite and explode and do damage, even kill at high percentage! I'm such a big Daisy fan it would be so sick and funny to see this in game but at the very least a "HI I'M DAISY" line would help her personality and references be seen 🧡

I can imagine a few Taunt ideas Dunk hunt can have one where the dog is chasing his own tail while the duck is being super annoyed. King K Rool can have a taunt that makes him say "Ah! Thank You!" From the Dk64 Boss fight. The Miis can have one where they're Bodies gets replaced with the bodies from Wii Sports. And of Course give Dedede a laugh that makes him use his iconic anime laugh.

Georges taunt should be a piplup coming to his side and saying "looking cool, George!"

I would like to see a similar taunt change for Sheik done for Young Link where he plays the Ocarina, and the tune he plays is Saria's theme. I would like to see some taunts for Wario's classic costume, that reference Wario Land and more specifically Wario World, where he could say lines like "I'm A Number 1" or could eat a piece of garlic and say okay. Reverting what Sonic says during his down taunt and side taunt back to what he said in Brawl would be awesome, I would abuse Sonic saying "You're Too Slow" and "Come On, Step It Up" so much. This type of discussion is a true rabbit hole for gamers, and I love it.

Another GREAT olimar taunt would be holding a taunt button to have him lay down, then the pikmin pick him up and start moving around

Project M had snake smoke a cigarette which would never be allowed but definitely fits. They also added the glasses as an easter egg that stays on squirtle until he gets hit.

if they made Dr. Mario's bug step taunt an bury move on stage and a spike move on ledge like Luigi, he would've had one of the funniest taunts in smash imo

Awesome! That Ganondorf one was my favorite! Honestly, the taunts in Ultimate generally feel so generic and sterile. I'm curious if there are actually mods on like Gamebanana to change character taunts! That would be amazing! I'd love to see just silly or rude taunts like Incineroar flipping you off or something. 😆
