I can't believe it either but I just found Saige at Goodwill today for $7! I'm shocked but I guess it can happen. She was wearing Felicity's blue and gold Beforever dress.
Whoa!!! That's so awesome!!! And especially that you got Felicity's dress too. When we first saw Saige I almost thought she was Felicity - haha! Thanks for sharing and watching and have a great day!!
Very KOOOOL! Congrats! What a Find! Nice tip on the Oxy for the fabric spots. Lovely Job. Lucky Doll, Lucky Daughter. Boy, you upped her value 10x and over! I uploaded an AG/Pleasant Co. Clean and Fix Up today too.
Thank you! We were absolutely shocked to find another AG doll at the thrift store and thrilled it was Saige! I was pleasantly surprised that the Oxy worked on the fabric. I think the marks on her legs would eventually disappear with Oxy too, and I'll probably do some more rounds eventually, but I thought it looked fine for now. It usually only takes about 2 times for the Oxy to work for me so this was a stubborn one. I will definitely check out your video. 😊 Thanks for watching!
@@UnicornRainbowsToysandDolls I have some Bitty Babies that I have had 'soaking' with Acne Cream for a month. VERY deep pin marks (from many years ago, I suspect) but it is working. I do not set them in the sun. I just let it sit. I have done this before with deep seeded pin/marker marks and it takes time, but worth it. Happy Thanksgiving.
She looks good! I'm impressed that Oxy took the stain out of the cloth body! I wouldn't worry about the stain on her leg. My Saige has two tiny dots on her arms from dye transfer, but I've not even bothered to try to remove them. They are her moles, haha. That rope braid is harder than it looks. I only just learned how to do it so it looks decent - not perfect, though!
Thank you! I have no idea how to do the rope braid, so I just twisted the 2 chunks of hair together and hoped it would stay somewhat 😅 It definitely is harder than it looks...I guess I should've looked up a tutorial before I did it 😉 You're right about the leg stain - definitely not a big deal but I was so happy that the Oxy took out the fabric stain! Thanks so much for watching! 😊😊
That's awesome!! 💝She is such a beautiful doll and that is so exciting for you! Thanks so much for watching, commenting, and sharing your great news! 🥰
This is what I have been doing. I buy them used on Ebay because we have no decent thrift stores where I'm at. Love bathing them, washing their clothes and fixing their hair. Proud of my small collection.
What a great job. Just a littlle cleaning here and there and she looks great. I think most people dont want to mess with the cleaning so they just pass them by. Thanks foor sharing. You guys are super
Thanks so much! Yes, it just takes a little effort and you can save an amazing doll or toy! It's one of my favorite things to do. Thanks for watching! 😊
That's awesome and so exciting that you got a Truly Me doll! 😊 I'm so glad our video could help you! Thank you so much for watching and for your sweet comment! 🥰
I just found a My Generation doll at my local thrift. Her hair was a mess I washed it with Dawn dish soap and lots of conditioner. My final step was a little (teardrop) conditioner in my hand I smoothed it into her hair with good results. I have a friend that did me the favor of cutting off the ends and now she’s perfect. Just finished watching a video cleaning up dolls and he used toothpaste. I’m going to try that.
You did y use the correct type of oxy10. Use the stuff in the small tube. Also, you didn’t use enough and you didn’t put her in the sun. It does work. I have used this method many many times.
She looks awesome! I’d just be carful with wetting the entire wig wet as it can cause mold underneath, and lifting the glue. Definitely wash the hair just try to stay away from the cap!
Thank you, and thanks for the tip! I definitely get nervous about getting an AG doll wet, but was mostly scared about the eyes. Thanks so much for watching and commenting! 🥰
I never wrap in plastic or Saran Wrap because when I have tried in the past, it smashes the cream and goes past the mark I'm trying to remove and bleaches the areas around it. I may have to wait longer for results, in some instances, without it but I'm OK with that. Thanks for watching and for the advice! 😊
My friend found a Saige doll at a thrift store for $5 and she gave her to me, but she's in pretty bad shape. I fixed her hair, which was frizzy and tangled, but the paint on her eyelids is totally gone silver, there's a few marks on her body, and she smells really bad. I washed her with baking soda and water, and soap, but she still smells. I cant describe it. I've put her in an air tight container with a bowl of baking soda, which I hope helps, but do you have any tips of how to get rid of the smell, repaint her face, and remove the marks on her legs?
Hi there! That's so exciting that your friend gave you a thrifted Saige! It's hard dealing with smells and it sounds like you tried most of the things I would've tried. Do you have somewhere you can place her outside to get some fresh air? Sometimes that really helps. Sometimes it just takes time for a smell to leave and you just have to keep giving her fresh air. Hopefully leaving her in with the baking soda helps too. As for the repainting, I actually do not have any experience with painting dolls. I would tell you to use acrylic paint but since it's on her eyelids, I'm not sure. I'm sorry I can't help with that. My favorite channel to find doll restoration tips is "A Thousand Splendid Dolls" - I don't know if she has anything regarding painting AG eyelids specifically, but you may find something in her playlists that might help. Regarding the marks on her legs, I have had a lot of success with the "Oxy Acne Medication Face Wash Maximum Action". It didn't work for me in this video and I found out later it's because it's not the light of the sun but the heat that activates it and it was cold on the days I put her out. So, I've heard of people using a blow dryer once they put on the treatment (if the doll can't be placed out in the warm sun) - I haven't tried this yet, but the Oxy definitely works on a warm day even if it takes a couple rounds. I will say - make sure that you only put it on the marks, and nowhere else, or it will bleach out the areas around it. I always apply with a toothpick directly on the mark. Sorry this is so long. Hope it helps! Keep me posted and thanks for watching! 😊
@@UnicornRainbowsToysandDolls Ok, thanks. Today I actually unstuffed Saige and washed her cloth body. That seems to help a lot with the smell, though now it smells like laundry soap and fabric softener, lol. I also stuffed her with new stuffing, which I hope helps. The hair smells fine since I washed it, but the plastic parts will probably just take time. As for the eyelids, I mixed some gold paint with a few other colors and its a similar color to her skin tone, but more so looks like she has sparkly eyeshadow, not a bad outcome for sure. I'm about to try repainting her freckles and eyebrows, so wish me luck! 😥
@@strawberrykiwi844 Awesome! It sounds like the eyelids turned out great and I'm sure the new stuffing definitely helps with taking some of the smell away. Good luck on the freckles and eyebrows! 😁
@@UnicornRainbowsToysandDolls Update, I think the freckles are adorable! I also repainted her teeth, so they're white again. I bought a tiny brush for them, which was helpful, but i think I'll need an even smaller one for the eyebrows. I looked up an image on google and she has lined eyebrows. I attempted it a few times, but I think the brush is still too big for that kind of detail. I also still need to make a lip color, which will be interesting. Update on the smell though, the new stuffing made her so much better! The plastic parts still smell a little, but not as strong. As soon as I paint her lips and eyebrows, I'll be able to put her back together and dress her up like my other dolls! 😁
@@strawberrykiwi844 That all sounds great! She's going to look so good when you're done! And I'm so glad she's smelling better. I am very sensitive to smells in general and the gross ones are even worse, so I can understand wanting it all gone. Haha! Were the teeth hard to do? I have an AG doll that's teeth aren't completely painted in the right spot and it drives me nuts but I'm too scared to try to paint them. What size is the brush you used?
They say Goop Hand cleaner is good to clean dolls and take out stains and you can twirl a dolls hair with a pensil or pen by wrapping it tight around it
Do you know if you send her into the doll hospital that she’ll come with ears pierced already? I have a Saige that I’m getting and she’s like yours but I don’t want to do the work so I’ll be sending her in to the hospital.
I'm sorry, I actually have no experience with the doll hospital, but I imagine they would send her back with ears pierced as that's the way she came if you were to have purchased her brand new from AG. I would contact customer service and ask - AG has great customer service and they're very helpful. Thanks so much for watching!
When washing her hair cover her eyes and face with a towel to protect them .... just as soon as you think you'll be careful and not get water in her eyes, you will !
I've tried using plastic over it, but it smooshes the oxy and gets it in places I don't want it to lighten things. Thanks for the tip though! And thank you so much for watching and commenting! 🥰Sorry for the super late response - I just discovered a bunch of comments that were "hidden".
Put the dress in a lingerie bag and wash it with your regular bright color laundry on gentle cycle. Hang to dry. It should just smell like your clothes then.
