Andris, thank you for a great year of content and humour. Finding your channel in 2023 has certainly brought a lot of enjoyment to me and so many others.
When you have pinhole leaks like that, you need to grind them completely out. It is usually a contaminant in the weld puddle that made it. When you just weld over it, the same contaminant can just make another spot.
My friend made his own hot water pressure washer by taking his pres washer, a50 foot length of copper tubing and a barrel. He wrapped the copper tube into a coil and placed it into the barrel so both ends stuck out the top. He hooked the hose from the pres washer to the coil then another to the coil to the gun. He filled the barrel wit enough water to cover the coils then built a fire under the barrel. When the water got to boiling he turned on the washer and after a while the gun melted.
A safer way is to use a propane fired instant hot water heater and hook your hoses to it. Mine is 14 liters per minute. Just stop from time to time or it will shut down for safety. Depends on the temperature I can go almost 10 minutes.
To work on Sibling of Joseph, buy a couple of used insulated tarps (the ones they use for winter concrete). Build a cheap frame structure cover with tarps and put a cheap diesel heater in it. You will be out of the wind and the diesel heater will get temp into high single digits Celsius….comfortable to work in. I’m sure you personal Santa Claus can make the needed supplies appear before Xmas.
Regarding your lathe: One thing which may help if the ‘soviet crap’ goes live is THICK non conductive rubber matting. The use of THICK rubber mats can prevent the current from entering and exiting the body. This lack of contact points is what allows birds to rest safely on high-voltage power lines - it is because they only come in contact at one point.

Next time when bending tubing, you can fill with sand and cap off and put it in bender to prevent kinking the tubing. My grandfather taught me, anyway hope you have a Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Hi Ants I have a hint for you grind a small flat along the bit shaft to make a " D " shape....bending pipe fill it with dry sand and tap it into the pipe with a brush handle pack it in well... cap off the ends...allow enough pipe for cutting the ends off to get the sand out ...merry x-mas to you and the family great viewing ....

Next time welding sheet metal wipe the sheet with acetone. Makes welding 100x easier. Do not use brakecleaner it will create toxic fumes. Be safe! And merry x-mas!

If a hose is too small but really close. Put the end of the hose in boiling water, then put a small amount of dish liquid in the end. It should work it's way onto the fitting.

After the first hour or two I would have placed a stick of dynamite under it and used what was left as a boat anchor.😂
Put a whole box of crushed black pepper in your radiator it'll smell great when you're driving and plug all the holes and it won't leak also keep all brass and copper shavings from your milling so you can put it in the radiators to completely plug them perfectly❤❤❤
Hey Andris, Mick here. Buy some cheap Pam ...liquid butter in a can. Spray the parts you are welding with it and the splatter will just fall off. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours.
Make yourself a big tarp portable heat garage and you can put a propane heater and just keep something warm while you're working on it and it's big enough for you to walk around and stand up in and everything else just tie it to a building so it don't blow away or some heavy stakes to tie up to ❤❤
When you get that machine to run and move you can drive it close to your three phase power and that seems to be better plan than buying all that extension wire that you will never really need.

I think you should drill a hole in the neck of the filler cap. Now when the pressure lifts the springloaded valve, that pressure cannot freely vent into the open air. If you drill a hole between the sealing surface and the top of the cap, the pressure can escape that way.
I love how the expansion tank came out. I think you still have a air pocket somewhere in the engine, so that's why it took only 30l of coolant. Not to say that the cabin looks now much cleaner after removing all the rat turds from it with the pressure washer. I'm sure this thing will have some other surprises in store, so we shall find it out in Spring if this thing even moves on its own power.

First, let me say merry Christmas. As for the diesel heater efficiency in the shop, you could add a regular radiator to the exhaust system so you can get all the heat out of the exhaust gases. I saw a picture of the same setup so it must work.
Just a lump of rolled hollow section RHS about the same length , as long as the bonnet will close and you can fit the pipes , plus’s a couple of lumps of angle for end caps / mounts , turn the fill cap mount in the lathe . Quicker easier to weld and last for ever . Just trying to help because I think you will be back to this one good luck great Chanel love it I’m a retired maintenance fitter , did this shiiii t all my life cheers
I've seen the same light effect after or during an afternoon storm in South East Queensland. I reckon it's the same effect from sunrise and sunset but caused by cloud cover.

Im Impressed with the expansion tank , great job ***** not easy to stop leaks in cooling systems that size . ive never seen steel coolant pipes that thick 🤣😂. the more leaks you fix the more pressure and so More leaks until you finally get it plugged , its going to be interesting to see how you proceed with the Kirovets ..........
Often, a good replacement for plumber's tape is to use parts of a balloon! You can cut it into a strip or use a 'flat' section. Build a quonset hut? Helped build one before. It's pretty simple. In addition, you don't have to clear snow off of it (Maybe clear the snow at the base before the 'big melt' in the Spring?)!

I got a 'broken' one of those Karcher washers from work. It was fixed the same way you tried, by removing the hose from the handle, but I had to turn it on it's side and jiggle it to dislodge the air bubble around the sensor inside.
