I always love watching these bike setup videos where it's so meticulous, makes me remember when I was a kid and we would put a whole bike together with an adjustable wrench and some tools that were laying on the garage floor, then sending it lol. New bikes are trash, but for some reason we still love them.

Another perfect lesson - I appreciate learning from your videos and experience. Creating lists of what to check as well as the thought process behind it, makes for the best videos.

I wrecked my bike a last week. A bad case of bottoming out and losing control. I haven’t checked for any damage to the bars, forks, or wheel but luckily from what I do know the had guards took the grunt of the force to save the levers

Thanks for the information, I'm going to get to do this to my DR after tipping my 286# Hay Budden anvil over which landed on my front tire. Suprised the rim didn't get bent but my handlebars are turned slightly right and the tire is off to left.

good video!! Couldn't straighten the handlebar to use again? Do you necessarily recommend putting a new one?
@dirtbiketv1
@dirtbiketv1 Год назад
NO do not try to bend them back-- if you were to re-use them after they could more easily break and this could cause a bad accident/crash/death.
@Wasatch_Sasquatch
@Wasatch_Sasquatch Год назад
Yes, using a special bar bender tool I’ve had for many years I’ve straightened many handle bars quickly and successfully. When you’re between Motos or a desert race pit stop or out trail riding and no spare replacement bars, bar benders are a lifesaver and your everybody’s friend when another rider needs them, too Most of the time in an impact to the bars it’s the bars that bend but the impact can go on to misalign other stuff but, bending bars about an inch back I’ve never had a problem in their reliability. I guess if you really pretzel them or repeatedly bend and straighten them you could definitely have issues but the advantage is you don’t have to remove any levers, grips or throttles before straightening them. Bar benders are so useful I’ve even bent back subframes, too, right on the bike. I don’t remember exactly but I could’ve got it from Chaparral and it was called an Ace Bar Bender. It may not be the recommended thing to do on this channel but, they are useful and always with me when I go out to ride.

i was super exited when i saw this video to see that you actually don't explain the right way to align triple tree, and rubber mount bushings. I actually do my best to eyeball them with fender and numberplates removed but i still dont know the real right professionnal way to do it.

Can you help me buddy?! My bike hasn't been crashed but if you hold the front wheel with your legs and wobble the bars from side to side there's a bit of movement/wobble from side to side but no wobble when brake is pressed and wiggled back and forwards just side to side??? Your help would be so highly appreciated right now!

We need to form a competing race series to the FIM/AMA, our own series. One that lets 2 strokes of equal displacement race with 4-strokes. This is an advantage that no series has ever had before over the FIM/AMA, and it has to attract more races because of the lower cost of racing. Or we can let the FIM run our racing to the point we can't fill the gates in the USA, like they can't at a MXGP today. Sport is growing? Really? Not with out racing 2-strokes it won't.

It's crazy how much lower quality everything is on a Japanese bike compared to the Austrian bikes. The clamps and risers and frame and even the bolts.
@kylekdk456
@kylekdk456 6 месяцев назад
The Austrian bikes are like Harleys, billet parts and high quality materials, unfortunately they still ride like shit.

Awesome video, but I really think the best advice is to not crash at all.
@andrewbecker3700
@andrewbecker3700 Год назад
So how do you propose we not ever crash? This is probably the most common thing any serious rider needs to deal with on a regular basis. Last week I went through this realignment procedure, after taking a low speed header, when the rear-end whipped out from under me on a gnarly logging access road. I wasn't carrying enough speed and when I tried to give her, my rear tire just spun out on a giant rock face in the middle of the road, and down I went. Face first into solid rock! I was certain it would cost me at least $100 bucks in parts? Nope, all is back to straight and ready for another spill. How do you improve your riding skill if you never wreck trying?
@woodysrockspyro6436
@woodysrockspyro6436 Год назад
If you aren't crashing you haven't pushed yourself enough. Trying things we are uncomfortable with is how we improve. Failure is just part of the process.
@andrewbecker3700
@andrewbecker3700 Год назад
@@woodysrockspyro6436 Also, it helps you find weak points in your setup. I've changed soo many parts to get my bike where I'm way more comfortable now in almost any situation. '21 YZ450f is a handfull the way its setup from the factory. Now I can actually relax a bit, and with the various ecu maps I've created, take on way more challenging terrain. Everybody likes different shit. My bikes all about durability. Power is way beyond most peoples needs.
