Fjällräven Kanken 13" Laptop Backpack - Packing for a 3 MONTH TRIP AROUND THE WORLD!

I'm really challenging my minimalist travel abilities with this Fjällräven Kanken 13" Laptop Backpack that's only 13 liters. I'm doing an around the world, 3 continent, 3 month trip with only what I can fit in this tiny backpack.
I've cut down a lot on everything, but I think I can do it with minimal camera gear, just enough clothes, and the bare essentials.
Here's my itinerary, so far:
Starting in Mexico City
2 nights Las Vegas
6 nights Los Angeles
1 night Tucson
1 night Houston
1 night NYC
3 nights Berlin
1 night Athens, Greece
16 nights Kalamata and surrounding areas, Greece
3 nights Bangkok, Thailand
6 nights Chiang Mai, Thailand
8 nights Koh Samui, Thailand
7 nights Pattaya, Thailand
5 nights Danang, Vietnam
5 nights Hue, Vietnam
4 nights Hoi An, Vietnam
5 nights, Nha Trang, Vietnam
5 nights Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam
then I think back to Bangkok or other parts of Thailand for a couple weeks and back to Mexico City

Dang great video. Under 15 pounds! Thank 🎉🎉🎉you 4 excellent presentation! I’ve purchased Avianca “basic” tix to LATAM in 10 days. Avianca flight @ half price of going rates: ($489 rt vs $$1,289 USD currently, rt is a steal.) I just can’t: survive 28 day Colombia trip w/only 14x 18 inch personal item ( that is supposed 2 fit underneath seat in front. ) Tip: Avianca allowed me 1 add checked bag 4 $110 USD under my manage flight(s) tab, rt: add’ll $110, yada yada new 2024 size, weight restrictions. This add on fee wd be hugely more expensive @ check in, day of my July flight. This diva is allowed a checked bag, dios mío❤Appreciate this video mucho!

Are you going to do a separate video with what is actually in there? Seeing all the cubes packed doesn’t help break down what you actually brought. That would be great to see!

Nah, that's it, you can see what I laid out, it's not a lot, very minimal clothing. Only issue I may have if it's cold in Berlin, but I don't want to take anything bulky just for a few days out of 3 months, most of the time in SE Asia 🙂

@@ToddHatagetting a packable down jacket would be great for the cold weather and you can layer up. Can you list the amount of clothing items you took, to give us an idea?

@@thatgirl3960 if it's 55F or lower ill bring my Uniqlo packable down jacket, otherwise for somewhat cold weather I bring my Muji windbreaker and Icebreaker long sleeve t shirt. This is everything including what I wore, so one set of clothes and shoes weren't in the bag

I bought a Kanken 17” after trying the 15”. The latter looked too small on me. And I should add the 13” actually looks too small on you too. Anyway, brought the Kankjen 17” home and realized how easily it is filled. I took it back and swapped it for a Raven 28. Great decision for me! That has been on a few trips with me…although I also have a couple other larger travel backpacks now as well. But truly, the Raven 28 is by far the best backpack for price-performance that I have come across to-date. As one other reviewer has stated, “it’s the bag I keep coming back to”. Kudos to what you are doing with a smaller backpack, but I could never do that.

That's great, I was looking at the Raven 28, but it's too much bag for me. Yes the 13" is too small for me, but I've actually lost a bunch of weight so it fits better, but I did give it away to a friend, I won't ever use it. I'm currently using the 15" on this 3 month trip to Asia, and I actually have a little bit of free space!

Thanks a lot! I'm not sure, I haven't flown on Ryanair with this bag. I think if you don't pack it so full, and don't put much in the outer pocket, it should fit under most seats

Really good, but minus the ipad, extra phone and half the cables, you could actually have a lot more space!

Since I'm traveling for 3 months, taking about 12-15 flights, I thought I would use the iPad, but I haven't used it yet. I always carry an extra phone since if something happens to my main phone I can't log into anything that needs the authentication codes, and my phone is my main camera for photos and vertical video, so I need a good quality backup. I do need to leave some cables out, but that's still pretty minimal weight and space. Picked up a few things along the way, but still managing space well, it is challenging though, and I'm way over the 7kg limit for most of these SE Asia airlines, but so far no one has weighed bags.

Usually the eBags compact rectangular ones, I also have some discontinued eBags rectangular ones that are bigger, I've been using those more in the 15" Kanken

I have been searching for these kind of videos for quite awhile now. I am not an avid traveller and I have been looking for the best small bags to travel with for a weekend. I think a lot of people would enjoy more videos with suggestions/reviews on bags of this size. ( 15l - 20l ) Please consider doing more testing and reviews on these smaller bags and THANKS. !

try looking up the regular fjallraven backpack which is the 16L and i tell you, they are sooooo amazing that i bought one for me and one for my partner! they come in variety of colours that you'll certainly find the one that's for you! happy with their products that i'm considering to get myself those essential pocket cross bags that they sell. good find mate!!

I had 2 long pants, wore one and packed the other. 1 each casual shorts, sleeping shorts, swimming trunks. I with 5 shirts, it was enough combinations not to wear the same thing every few days

Actually the 13" was too narrow for me, the straps were too small, but if you're a thinner person it will be fine. For a tablet, either one, this will have the extra laptop compartment to keep it separated, and you'll have extra room in there for maybe a light jacket or something. But it's much pricier than the regular backpacks.

Not counting clothes you’re wearing i figure one pair pants one or two shirts 1 extra socks (wool) 2 underwears 2 undershists a jacket. Laptop phone and chargers outlet converter hygiene passport money etc.
