I like the way you crossed over under the engine. I had to take my exhaust on passenger side around the front of the engine. I am running a GM dana 60 with my 6.0 LS. I did a similar thing in the fact I couldnt run duals and went 2.5 from header to just past back of engine on drivers side and then 3in out. I completely heat wrapped my exhaust as you were talking about all the way back past the atlas. I am also interested to hear the muffler you chose I am running a Borla race muffler and honestly it sounds great but is way to loud for my liking. You have done a great job on this FJ-40. Congrats and your attention to detail is inspiring. Billy

Without much room to work with that exhaust turned out great. I will be interested to see if you have any heat issues from how close it is, but really no other options on where to run it. Definitely looking forward to hearing how it sounds!! Such an awesome build!!

You could run it down and try and integrate the exhaust somehow into the rock sliders and back. Idk kinda of a crazy idea but probably dumb idea. Sounded better in my head

I haven't had the best of luck with Solarflux. I've built several exhausts with it. The results are ok. The container last a very long time but it has doubled in price from a out $40 to $80 a tin.

Jet hot coatings is what LiteBrite has used for their exhausts. They talk very highly of them. Maybe look into them for heat and paint control.

Worst case, they do make oval exhaust pipe. I think it's kind of expensive, but if it works, it might be worth it.
