I subscribed to your channel a while ago but forgot about it..I'm happy I rediscovered it because I appreciate the items you review especially the clothing..I have a very similar style and am a fan of the same brands ..You do a fantastic job
A super review, thank you so much. I shall be ordering very soon. An XL I think as I'm a 48'' chest 34'' waist. Thank you for spending the time passing on your experience.
I wonder if you could apply the same oil treatment as is used on Australian oilskin drovers? I had one back when I worked horses and I don't remember breathing issues but it was definitely waterproof. Withstood 10 hour AZ monsoons in the desert...
Thanks for the great review. I believe that Fjallraven call this jacket "Singi" in Europe but it appears identical. They also make an insulated version. Its nice to see a good review of the jacket - I'm 6'3" and size L too and i don't think I could handle that neck closure on such an expensive jacket. All the best to you in NJ.
hi Sean, enjoyed your review. i fell in love with their jackets after a somewhat disappointing experience with the water resistance of Barbour's waxed jackets. unfortunately whilst fjallraven jacket are great for hiking / hunting over rough conditions, their water resistance is virtually nonexistent. Experience has shows that you'd need practically a whole bar Of the Greenland wax stuff to make it somewhat resistant, losing breathability. still it's always my first choice for rough hiking / hunting.
Louis- Thanks very much for your comment. I was at the local Barbour shop this week, and have always wondered how their product would hold up. They seem a bit more fashion-conscious, but I liked a few of their Barbour International jackets, particularly in the black. True story on the Greenland wax. I actually like the filson oil wax better, as it's a bit pastier, and creates a nice patina. Trade off on the breathability, though, as well. Take Care--Sean
Thanks for the Filson oil tip, I'll try it. With respect to Barbour jackets they are low activity / ambling (and I do mean ambling) wear. Condensation in side the jacket is an issue. But they are a beautiful spectator jacket.
Very concerned about the fit, I'm at about a 40 chest and 6 foot tall would a large be too big in your opinion ? and st 5'9 how did you find the length to be ? ( despise online ordering but no dealers near lol )
Bearded Canadian It would probably be quite loose on you, as I’m a 43-44 chest and have room to layer. I’d check the sleeve length on the medium, and see if that might work better. Good luck
About the zipper: are you certain that you got a men's version of the jacket? We tend to have left hand closure (zippers and buttons) on women's clothing and right hand closure on men's clothing over here. It's not very logical. It's just tradition...
