Thank you very much for the lap Misha ! As usual, great driving. It's pretty surprising to feel your driving from the passenger seat as on video you seem to be sawing at the wheel quite a lot and in reality the car feels very balanced and your inputs are very subtle. As a long term viewer it meant alot to me that we could do this lap and I'm quite surprised at to how well the video comes up. Really impressed by it ! Many thanks to Adrian for the great work as well !! Otherwise, I hope to come back next year with some issues solved. New suspension springs, AP brakes all around, half cage and harnesses, a few details and most importantly a good set-up by Karl. And a re-tune as the vanos was leaky and the car was missing 50nm or so. It would be interesting to do a comparison lap if you want ! I hope you have a merry Christmas and wish you a happy new year !
What a humble guy. He said that his palms were sweating at the end, but you could see throughout the lap that he truly trusted Misha and really enjoyed that ride - as did the rest of us. Thank you both.
Yeah,6 years ago bought for cheap a 320i,the sound of the engine was the major point for that purchase. Now the body look is associated with the joy of the sound from that i6.Oddly enough a e36 who not have a l6 is not that appealing anymore even it's the same body 😅
Yes. I've always liked them more than anything that followed I'll tell you that... but then again I Daily a 535is. A nice M3 or E36 is a good thing to have. I'm going to try to find even a nice 318 US model.
I agree. Misha's lines are pretty good, he opens up corners very well. Its the opening up of the corners that surprised and impressed me. He does it exceedingly and everytime comes out perfect line
What a great owner! He’s very humble and open to any advice and genuinely respectful of Mishas abilities and knowledge. He’s a far cry from that guy in the Alfa who I will forever call “Mr Know It All”😂
Speaks volumes to the durability of this engine 255000K and only lower end work done to this point and still humming at 7500rpm, Thanks Gabriel and Misha for a great lap. Safe and happy holidays to you both
@@paularthur9218 Going from a 1er to an E46, I can tell you that my 1er was definitely faster, but my 46 feels like a fighter plane 😂 You just feel more connected to the car...
That sound, and pick-up from any rev, its really flexible, always power. One of the nicest engines ever and an E36 feels nimble, good frontend grip. Its just got it all. Im an Alfa Romeo guy, but man, these were the type of cars Alfa should have been building. Maybe a 155 in racetrim was succesful. But no matter how I love the Busso V6, the M 6inline sounds just as good and is wayyyy more powerful.
Its because they're the lightest and simplist of the chassis after the 46 you get the e90 and e60, and those are just so much bigger and packed with more technology, comfort and bigger engines
@@delahayenator I was born into an Alfa 146 then a bmw e46 2002 facelift welcomed me home when I was 4! Only God knows how much I love cars especially bmws 🥰🤍
You know? When you see someone with that level of respect, education, admiration and being so humble about himself, you only can admire and respect the person. Like the car and the sound but, in this case (similar to what happen with the lad of the Camaro weeks ago) is the owner who make me take my hat off. Thanks to him and to Misha too, of course.
This car is very nice. I have been watching Misha's videos for a while and the way the car goes, even on video, is extremely satisfying and almost magical. Smooth AF. It's like Misha says 10:15 "loving it". Am I just imagining things or is this actually a very nice car to anyone else? The chassis together with the tires seems superb. Also, that dude is an actual fan. He trusts Misha and just keeps smiling when the car is pushed. He was not lying in the beginning. He just wanted to contribute to the videos and had fun. Nice one.
@@fruitygranulizer540 have you driven their modern street cars? Literally zero steering feel from the road, totally artificial... and screens everywhere
@@Rockit181 that's how all modern cars have become though. that's not unique to BMW. besides, i don't see how that is related to a motorsport connection. the M badge is still related to technologies developped for GT3
@@fruitygranulizer540 because racecars have driver feel. Mazda has significantly better steering than BMW now lol. Same for a Subaru BRZ, not to mention Porsche... Who BMW used to be able to somewhat compare to as a drivers machine. Now enthusiasts are all competing over getting Porsches because BMW can't seriously claim to be an "Ultimate driving machine" anymore
Great video, great car. The owner added the correct mods to enhance the abilities of the E36 M3 without making it unusable for daily driving. KW Clubsport coilovers for the E36 M3 were developed on the Nurburgring, and definitely show that they are great for the chassis.
Just perfect! You can see from a mile, that both of them are really enjoying the ride, Misha is surprised how well the car works and the owner is surprised how fast his car can actually go around the ring. Really nice car and it revs like crazy at the top end. You can see that the owner is truly dedicated to making this car better and better, keep up the good work man!
Beautiful car and the engine noise just fantastic. A very humble car owner who should be proud of his work in progress. Merry Christmas Misha to all at Apex and to all your followers. Greg 🇬🇧
The more time passes, the more I look at each and every new m car as a status symbol more than a track tool like they used to be. Also the owner seemed in constant disbelief that he was really there with Mischa. Super cool guy.
I love the e36. Is just a very good car with good look, sound , handling and connection with the driver. As a 4 cyl e36 owner I hope that in the future I will have the opportunity to buy an m3.
What a nice owner, you could see by the smile how much he enjoyed the lap! Amazing car, incredible to see how good the platform is, knowing it’s almost an Oldtimer. I love the sound of the engine and what a magnificent clean look. Beautiful!
Yeah, these sound better than the S54's and that airbox gives it a cool edge too. Timeless design. To be fair the E46 also ages very well. Solid fast car. Nice lap.
@@bimmer.joo34 it's maybe more accurate to say "inspired" by the CSL airbox, as the S54 one won't fit directly onto the S50. A bit pedantic, yes, but enough to make it harder to find one that fits 😆 The S54 can sound nice with the right exhaust (and yes, the airbox makes a big difference). The US-market S54 is what I think gave it a bad rep, as the asymmetric mid-pipe made it raspier than the RoW spec.
@@bimmer.joo34 this is not accurate older m52 m50 s50 s52 make a distinct different sound from s54, that ive always found awesome/better my m52 e36 made same distinct sound with basic mods.
Is it the car or the driver ? The combination of the 2 is insane. Great driving skills ! And the smile on the owners face when he passed the porsche made my day.
I had a smile on my face the whole time and I was just watching! Epic guys, congratulations on the new venture. Seeing people do what they are passionate about is the best, exited for the future content. Thank you :)
I love the E36 M3. So awesome to see them still mobbing the ring. I just wonder if we'll ever see Misha find a 1997 C36 AMG to also lap on the ring from the same era. Has to be the '97 since it has the 5 speed and the most power. But I am guessing those are uber rare at the track.
As a 4 time E36 M3 owner: I would suggest a half cage and a GT spoiler, it will make the car more rigid and better in high speed corners. But as always when you mod the car more for the track, you get further away from streetability.
It's planned for next year. Just so much to do this year with the car I had not had time for these. Also have an OEM style GT full lip to install but am afraid the car won't get in the garage afterwards.
@@quintenquet Oem wheels 10 ot 12mil spacers but I don't recommend these shit brakes mate, that's why I've gone AP Racing now. Best kit for E36 is VMaxx Racing front kit with Pagid RST3 pads. Tested and proven on THE fastest E36s on the ring. And cheaper than the shit 6 pot brembos trust me
E36 WOW, what a car! 8k redline is exilarating. I now understand what the fuss is about this classic bmw! Watching the lap, speed feels just short of the GT3RS. Car looks spot on at each turn. Congrats!
Misha is just an incredible driver. Reminds me when I go to the skatepark with my friends who are semi-professional and you just sit and enjoy the show. That's how it felt watching this haha, peak E36, peak driving!
Great video and fantastic sound. That lightened flywheel certainly makes it fly towards the red line quickly. A properly sorted E36 defies its years in terms of performance.
Misha you're a mad man and driver! passing way newer cars with better downfoce like they were parked on the side of the road! nice car, nice lap! love you videos!!
As I watched your lap I kept thinking that the car looked a little sketchy. Then you confirmed it at the end! That made me feel pretty good!! As always Misha your driving abilities made the E36 really shine but I suspect you could get much more from it!
PS: The former old Nurburgh record holder BMW M3 CSL (LOADED) from sweden... i have been a passanger in it when the driver drove it like he stole it!!! U gotta drive an NSX 😍 That induction noice!!!
This is a pure classic GEM of a car. Perfect owner, perfect driver, good lap, and that sound my friends, that sound………… As always, thanks a lot Misha et merci beaucoup au proprio que je pense être français 😉👍 Super vidéo !! Big salut 🫡 from France, ViNZ.
What a cool lap that was. Could tell how much you enjoyed it... the astonishing sound this car produces is from another world.. these upshifts were incredible..
That thing sounds so good.ITB's and carbon airbox. You guys were flying. " Cya orange Porsche! Bye bye Mustang Mach 1!" "Weeeee" Me likey. That owner was digging his ride along for sure. " And that young man is what your car can do. " Great video guys.
