Glad they’re clearing up the false claims. People seem to have a major difficulty understanding that ectopic pregnancies etc will always be treated in emergency rooms/hospitals. It has nothing to do with abortion.
Florida has an identical law to Tx. Women with ectopic pregnancies have had to wait till their fallopian tube burst. That would be like a doc being made to wait till an appendix ruptures before removing it under threat of going to jail. Women are already dying from these laws.
Florida also has a Heartbeat law. What if the fetus still has a heartbeat in the fallopian tube? What if a woman is having a placental abruption and the fetus still has a heartbeat? Why not make the law say that the doctor's opinion matters most and should be the final answer? And sorry-pregnant women are being turned away from ERs. Doctors are afraid.
Treatment for an ectopic pregnancy is literally an abortion. “To save a woman’s life” is a difficult line to draw. How close to death do they have to be? Legislatures, lawyers and judges are making that decision instead of doctors and patients. Evil.
im not understanding the backlash to this. it allows for the abortion in anycase that is dangerous or unwarranted. ppl are still getting their abortion rights, and doctors are being told to perform them under a list of reasons for allowance. the only ppl this prevents abortion for is the girl whos on her 4th one cause shes opened her legs and still isnt ready to be a parent. and i say that cause in florida it happens far more often than you think. abortion is not birth control. its a healthcare procedure.

Don't get an abortion if you don't want one and mind your own business. DeSantis has taken thousands of children off of Medicaid and hasn't bothered to report on Medicaid in Florida.
