Once you understand frequency, you’ll understand basics in sound.. mixing is really to liking but frequency is fundamental.. on this though, I’m glad to see layering isn’t a bad concept!
Charles Sweet I’m busy works Beas has several videos on it. When basically looking at a parametric eq in fl shows you where your desired frequency range for each band lies
I have the stock sounds for the moment, but I figure if I learn to make stock sounds sound good, I'll made those premium sounds even better someday. Thanks!
Thats what I'm talking bout. You're the first producer, I've ever seen on RU-vid to use those buttons. Alot of people be sleeping on those features, it really make a difference in your music.
Nice Vid Curt. It shows that the entire process of making a beat is a science. Just spending a little bit of time on the little things makes a big difference.
Damn that 808 was BOOMIN' in my headphones lmao!! Thanks for the Curtorial, even though I use Maschine I've been translating your tips to the tools there and my last couple of beats have been sounding better overall. Thanks again Curtiss!
Quick tip to add to the vid: I just learned you can use Fruity Peak Controller to sidechain your kick to your sub/808. That's truly the way to get your kick to slap through the mix and give it that "knock" that everybody loves. There's plenty of info on exactly how to do it on RU-vid and Google. Thx Curtiss, killin it as usual
Great video Curtis! I also think leveling your sounds right and making sure you’re not clipping is a huge problem that a lot of producers don’t even pay attention to. Especially since FL studio now puts a limiter on the master by default, everything gets squashed!
This is very informative! I was wondering if you'd ever start doing beat tutorials. It would be dope to see a follow up to this video with high quality drum sounds from popular kits.
Brilliant. Didn't think of using some of these options, like the envelope. I've really been struggling to get clean and satisfactory sounding drums. This may just be my start to really getting them to sound more professional.
Dude thank you man. i learned alot and i just started learning. im glad im learning the correct way to create my drums... i hope nothing but good things and success to you and yours.
Hey Curtis thanks this was particularly helpful. I'm kind of a beginner and I've just been throwing down stock FL drum sounds knowing I should probably do more but not sure how to approach it. This gives some great direction and already has me thinking of ideas I want to try out.
Yo let me just start off by saying thank you, you are really helping out the community with these videos man, you are really helping me to become the Businessman I've always seen myself as growing up, and let me also say, I really thought I knew what I was doing with my beats until this video!😂😂😂😂 Thanks for the wake-up call Curtiss I needed that!😂
Great info always wish you had some logic pro x info i haven't seen any so far but I'm going down the list!! Thanks for all the valuable information!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
PluMMy not hating but Curtis is not a great producer he is a smart guy tho and he does have some ideas i soppose his target is the day 1 to 3 months old producers.
You were killing me with that bad kick dude lmbo it was like watching somebody look for their keys and they are holding them lol I love your book Curtiss King. I’m gonna buy your FL studio courses.
