Thank you a lot for your videos ! Somes of the new improvements are mind blowing. I'm also waiting for an improvement on deleteting automations. The fact that you have to go into the browser to delete them proprely is a nonsense.
Well spoken!!! Glad you touched on what FL was and why it took them so long to rewrite the code to keep up with user demands. 👏👏👏 by the way in the video when you added an instrument track I noticed the Mixer window did not pop up. It must be because you have it open in the background undetached?
I just tested... With Mixer not detached (but closed): Here on my system the Mixer pops just up when I create Instrument tracks directly from the playlist options (track header rightclick menu or the new plus button...) If I create the Instrument tracks by drag and drop from the browser or the Plugin Picker it doesn´t pop up... With the Mixer detached (but closed) it pops up always not matter what I do...
The last improvement I am waiting for is this - Lets say I insert two tracks and they are automatically routed to channel 1 and 2. Now if I shift+scroll and move the second track to 3rd, its still routed to channel 2 which is very inconvinient. After that when I add another audio in the 2nd track it automatically routes to channel 3. Its very stupid and I will be very happy if imageline fix this.
it is painful for me as simple regular job worker, that the cost of FL 20.9 is totally unaffordable today in my country because the economic CRISIS and the curse of Inflation
Everybody else is in the same boat... nonetheless most of us have still managed to... If it´s a matter of having food in the kitchen that´s more important for sure... but if it´s a matter of perhaps not being able to have a drink with friends for 1 or 2 month or buying a new smartphone or subscribing to netflix and what have you... you must decide what´s more important!
@@marceumere Ok, then you are definetely in a worse situation than most of the others... Sorry about that... But at the very end there is no other solution... if you cannot afford it, you can not use it. That´s how things are atm...
FL Studio was never able before to paste to the play cursor... you must have something else in mind... I showed it with 20.9.2 how it worked before with scrolling over the playlist/editor and the clip/event was pasted to the first visible bar grid line on the left hand side...
@@flstudiotricks6903 - You was right. It not works in the Piano Roll and also not in the playlist 🤔 Maybe my workflow is that i think it worked. Who knows 🤷🏻♂️
@@isomatic I don’t care it’s one of those things where they should know by now, it’s not some quirky feature it’s a major workflow update that needs to be put in place
The betas are quite stable... no reason basically to wait for the official release... but of course it´s your choice... I am too impatient... I never wait :-)
Watching this video makes me feel that i’m not alone on this about frustrations with fl, im on Logic for 8 months and even though i loved FL Studio for almost 10+ years, i just can’t go back, but still happy to see the beloved DAW progressing and catching up. Thanks for the vid
When dragging an audio clip or plugin to the new playlist track, a workaround to get rid of the clip at the beginning is to hold Ctrl, click the track (this selects everything in the track) and then hit delete. Doing this, you don't have to scroll and lose your place in the playlist. Of course, now this doesn't need to be done anymore due to the update.
Because they do not have patterns... if they had they wouldn´t have it either... 2 different worlds... Just look at Studio One... they have some kind of patterns and there you do have to make a new "variation"
Just upgraded from signature to All Plugins bundle for a sick Black Friday sale. Was going to switch to live but FL studio's loyalty to their customers saved me lol
HI Mathias ,what's up 😉,thanks again for your sacrifice ,please Mathias have you a idea when the version 21 comes on ,have a great day ,see you soon bye
No idea... nothing official was being said other that it will be ready when it´s ready... Perhaps late 2022... perhaps early 2023... only they can tell!
@@flstudiotricks6903 Thx Mathias for your answer, a really nice guy this Mathias, so like some people said i wait an see 😊you know i worry a bit if i instal the bêta, i don't will bild bullshit on the Fl files, i can wait so far no problem, thanks again 🎺😋
we could paste on lines other than bars before, if you had the magnet snap on (for example if you chose 1/4 beat then you could paste to the closest 1/4 line)
Maybe.. I never have checked and even if I would never consider to always change my snap settings just to paste stuff differently... I think pasting to where I showed and moving the pasted stuff to the wished location is a lot faster and effortless to do.
@@flstudiotricks6903 I agree, the previous way to paste was quite annoying I was just mentioning it just for the info to be out there, and also since not everyone is going to be on the beta (especially if making important projects) so I hope any mentioned workarounds for previous versions help others
Hello I really hope that they update the sequence maker, like the the midi generator and stuff like that. I hope they add some new vsts or update the vsts for more Southern or Urban style music, if we have this doll that we paid for and it's free updates I would like it if they would update those things like other daws have
Great video, I just wish they would release FL 21 already. I read an article from back in February stating image-line saying that FL 21 is just around the corner, Ha! .. Surely It can't be long now.
the auto generation of instrument pattern clip at the beginning of the arrangement is a pet peeve of mine as well. since its automatically highlighted the first thing I do it press delete after making an instrument track so I don't have to scroll to the beginning. Its almost a reflex now, but i've been waiting for this default behavior to change
Was my way too :-) but this doesn´t work with audio files... they are not auto selected like patterns on instrument tracks... So the new way is far better... :-)
Oh wow, you are one of the developers of FL Studio...? Nice to meet you! Or how do you know how long it takes to implement a feature into the programm?
There should really be an option for deleting duplicate clips, audio files in the playlist. Using shift and right click will duplicate and increase the volume of any clips etc in the playlist with significant amount. To undo that for a lot of clips is frustrating. Also difficult to see where clips are stacked on one another. Maybe where clips overlap or stack they can give it another color. And just add one click option to delete all duplicated tracks.
All thats left for Imageline is to add the pan & volume control button for each tracks directly into the playlist section just like any other Daw. That would be the final nail in the coffin for other Daws.
@@ProdDJD While they are at it they could develop a healing method for cancer and poverty at the same time... They are aware of any problems and as soon as a solution is ready they will offer it... Why don´t concentrate on the new enhancements we have already and enjoy them until the rest is ready to go...
@@flstudiotricks6903 I think they're doing an amazing job handling the updates and feature additions, but it is true that much work needs to be done (and I know that they know, cause it's in the forums repetitively), and I'm not hating or rushing them or anything like that, I was just letting this original commenter know that it's not going to be the final nail in the coffin, and compared to other problems, the one he mentioned is really insignificant
These videos are awesome. I missed the memo on the whole audio/instrument track thing and it looks like an awesome improvement. Can you just create a blank midi instrument pattern and then drop that pattern onto each instrument track that you want to follow that pattern? Instead of creating 3 identical patterns for 3 different instruments?
Of course you can use and insert all pattern for instruments used on instrument tracks as well... It´s just that when you create a new instrument track the first free available pattern gets renamed to the instrument track name and gets auto inserted into the playlist... The Instrument track just makes a connection between The Playlist, the Channel Rack and the Mixer for renaming, dleteing, automating and such but apart from this you can use the instruments and Patterns as usual...
Ghost notes have nothing to do with playlist tracks but with patterns! Currently FLS is just bale to show ghost notes of other instruments in the same pattern... but of course even if you use Instrument tracks in the playlist this doesn´t mean they have to be triggered all from their own pattern... you can still trigger multiple instruments from the same pattern no matter what you do in the playlist and because of that you can still use Ghost notes... I, for my part, go a different way though: I have an empty Sampler in my channel rack and when I need ghost notes I simply copy the notes I want to see into the new pattern I want to work on using this empty Sampler instance, called...Ghost... very creative 🙂 It´s a bit more cumbersome but I can keep my actual workflow to have the different instruments seperated to their own patterns...
Thank you for another in depth update, Mathias. Have you got experience with the MIDI controller scripting? There are so little videos on this subject and the possibilities are tremendous!
Oohhh a new video of the new FL... 😃 One improvement I would love to see is when adding a time signature marker, that the change also apply on the song, not only on the visuals. I use to do many signature changes, so it would be a good workflow improvement. Also, I mostly get a crash when trying to drag and drop files from an FL instance to another; no idea why sometimes it works.
The only thing which comes to my mind: Make 100% sure that neither instance is started as admin rights... this can cause trouble like this when drag and drop!
@@flstudiotricks6903 Hey Mathias! I red about that, but I excecute the program in normal mode; sometimes it crashes when dragging and drppping, sometimes it works like a charm. Mostly, the problem happens if the thing I'm dragging and dropping is too big, like some audio samples. I not often use to do that, only when I need to fix somee project I accidentally broken. Already asked in the forums but the problem is so random I don't know how to tackle it. Plenty of RAM, so no problems with that. Thank you very much for your reply anyway! Appreciate a lot! 👍
@@Overxpossed You can try with: FL Studio\Support\Logs\Crash\ If there are any log files in that folder, zip them and head them over to IL via email or in the forum and let them have a look if there is something related
Can we get some new and improved GUIs for the channel and mixer rack, PEQ2.They should update the eq in the right bottom corner section. Also, definitions of parameters when you hover of a knob of any sort.
Just wanted to thank you for your concise and clear survey of all the new features, this makes me happy and i am a Flstudio user since version 4! so this seems amazing to me to finally see that the code has been cracked and can be re-written to add amazing new features like this, i think GoL is now smiling upon us to know that the software he helped build is growing so much more intuitive and stronger, thanks for what you do! p.s Reason for edit - wrong info
