The event editor in the piano roll is a mess. I wish you could just use the song style event editor in the piano roll. Or make a direct connection from the roll to the song mode. Kinda like a fully piano roll editable song mode. Workflow, preview and editing of all your notes would be incredibly simple and you could build everything n there. Full edit and event workflow all in one. Resizable, too. Also need a default simple straight line setting or reset patch. You guy's are doing a great job.Thank you!!!!
Nice video breakdown of the update. I think the automation point convertor should show the control points on top of the previous event editor/automation view to help users accurately refine and pick the perfect sensitivity setting for the most accurate conversion with no loss of fidelity. Having to do so within a completely separate pop-up window, which also happens to block some or most of the original Event editor automation view is not exactly ideal. I hope the team can develop this feature further to make it more user-friendly in future updates.
I use the Layer channel in literally every single project I create, lol. I prefer the faster workflow for changing and swapping out layered synths and samples than within Patcher which takes more time. The new new sequential playback mode is a cool addition (reassures me that the team might not try to drop support for the Layer channel any time soon). I will probably use that most for triggering sequential variation on layered percussion or sfx channels.
In the Mixer channel, there should be a button to click and drag 'Mixer track states' rather than always right clicking and dragging which is time consuming.. Hope 20.9 has that or maybe FL 21
I wouldn't hold my breath on that... I think more likely nothing will change until they work on a new dynamic mixer will will happen sometime in future...
Plz report this bug. Plugins manager. 1)install any vst plugin 2)scan plugins 3)select that plugin as favorite by clicking star 4)open fl studio and open that Effect or synth plugin in fl 5)close fl and uninstall that plugin 6)rescan plugins.💢 U can't find that plugin but it's show in fl studio 7)open fl studio and open that plugin. U can't open that plugin. Overall I'm trying to say is. I don't wanna see plugins in fl studio which I uninstalled. Plz check it once at your side and report it.
It's basically the same exact stretch algorithm that Ableton has, only Ableton doesn't have full formant control, but it's good for vocals and lots more :) Still waiting for real-time warping!! haha
I wish they would update the pitch bend. When editing pitch bends there is no way to tell how far the wheel is in the editor. I wish there were marking showing a full step or an octave etc.
I agree. There is the thing in the top left that tells you how many cents you're bending, but a snapping feature would be nice. What you *can* do is change the range, and then bend the wheel. Say you want to bend it an octave, you can just set the range to 12 and bend it all the way
@@overclockofficial6669 True, but if you don't have midi controller attached and you are just trying to edit from the editor it is a pain to just go by ear. They should just be able to put something in the graph that will tell you how far it is going.
@@w1zard0f0h don't go by ear. Set the pitch knob to the desired key, + 300 or +500 whatever you want to pitch it to. Copy value FROM the knob once its set, and THEN paste it into the automation point. In The Mix does an amazing exanation about this.
i know the crossfade feature existed, but i never understood what it did. now i understand it and it's a game changer. especially if you have similar sounds to bring in more variety!
i like the feature to much, because of the automatic formant shift when you transpose a sample. sometimes i want to create a different variation of a melody loop and i transpose it 1 octave down. its lower, but the "timbre" is the same
Image-Line continues to insist on this atypical treatment and disconnect from automations ... Is it so difficult to integrate vector vectors directly to the piano roll screen? I feel that they are too complicated and not precisely in the direction that users would like the most, in the forums is the proof. I am a bit disappointed for the changes that will come in version 21 ... I have not heard anything about CUSTOM LAYOUT for PIANO ROLLS to be able to edit the names and colors of the keys, something very useful to mark the KEYSWITCHES or a customizable viewer for the keys. drum tracks ... I'm disappointed and with how close FL21 looks it looks like this isn't going to come in the near future
They made surveys to hear what most people wish and that´s the list they are working with... This time it´s more about audio and the playlist... Not everything can be done at the same time....
How did you make it so the plugin picker window shows both the image and the name of the plugin? (13:27) The only way I know to make it so it generates the image is to save the plugin to the database once you load it, and do it manually for each one, and that way doesn't generate the text underneath, is there another way to do it? Also, about naming the categories, I know I could go to the plugin database folder and do it there or change it manually for each one, but I want it to update in the plugin manager window, as that it'll show up where each plugin is located (for some reason when I do it manually the plugin manager doesn't detect the plugin) you know any other way to do it?
@@flstudiotricks6903 Wow you're insane, I don't have the patience for that (because my library keeps growing, and a script would be a lot better than that), but thanks for sharing!
I wished they'd have left patcher as it was. I'm keeping my version. The formant shifting is cool but I have already some third party VSTs for that. Thank you for your video!👍
That is not formant shifting in the usual sense .. its a pitch shifting algorithm that preserves formants to make them sound cool and are different than little alterboy if thats what ur talking about
Great summary of the Beta 6, great new additions, especially the formant control. Do you know if there is any difference between "Stretch" and "Stretch Pro" besides the formant control? Is Stretch Pro better than Stretch even if you use the same controls?
The main difference is the formant control... And this formant control is always active!!! Not every sound benefits from preserving formants ... menas for many sounds this new mode will not be suitable...
