This is exactly what i was searching for, thanks! In my case though, i wanted my sample to sound longer, but not THAT long, so i just started the original sample and filled the empty space with the loop, imo the result is waaaay more natural than just the loop going on and on and on!
You likely sent it to an audio clip instead of a sampler. To make sure add a new sampler to your channel rack select it and then send it to selected channel again and there ya go you are in business.
You're a genius I use this method for opposite way around. For 808's i want them to stop on note but they don't. With this method you can make them stop when u want them too
bruv ive been looking for this for so long best tutorial made on utube straght to the point no fucking about and also explained shortcuts and that, thank you
63 years later, after civilization has collapsed and the zombie plague has ran rampant and pushed humanity to the brink of extinction, this is STILL the best FLStudio tutorial on RU-vid
I've been using FL studios for 4 years and even for a year or two after I had FL studios 10 I was doing all my loops completely manually, thanks a ton! Also would you be able to make a tutorial on isolating effects that don't have wet/dry function? Currently I reverse polarity to create complete destructive interference of the dry sound wave form leaving behind the effect, but it doesn't always work. I hear there's a better way to do it with patcher.
Is it possible to do this: take a vocal sample " Da dum" and put a loop on the "A" then get the sound after the loop end point? so that the result is " Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaa *release key * dum ?
For FL 20 entire procedure : 1. From playlist select wave form 2. make unique as sample 3. Yes 4. Save to a folder 5. drag that file on to channel rack 6. click on file 7. edit in audio editor( Edison). 8. Left click and drag to Select a short region where the volume is fairly level. 9. Right click tools 10. Tune loop or CTRL L 11. Adjust length, tension if desired / Accept 12. Ctrl A (to select the entire waveform) / Right click / tools / send to selected channel 13. Close Edison 14. On channel rack Channel properties / Use loop points/ This will select the previous selected loop points. 15. play on MIDI keyboard or in Piano roll stretch out note
Thanks mate! That's a nifty trick. One question though- Is there any way to get that "wobble" effect away? And with some samples there's this "click" sound at the beginning of the looped sample which I can minimize, but not get red of. Any thoughts on if this is possible?
my quest : Before starting a project , I should create baseline first or I should create the melody first? and if I do one of the two.....they don't match , I mean they are fighting and they don't sound good with the loop or baseline.
I know this was four years ago, but any way you can automate where the end point of the loop is so you effectively change the length of the sample looped?
Hi and thank for this tutorial, i am new to FL so may be you could help me: How do I make a track with a length of one minute, consisting of only a few patterns, recorded in mp 3 file with a length of 5 hours, that is, so that it repeats these 5 hours, but sounds like one song, five hours?
Thank you so much, Ive been trying to do exactly this but by slicing them up in the playlist... like a total noob lol thank you. HOWEVER I do have one question. Is there any way to make lets say a bass hit shorter?.. like its already short but I want it to be hitting even quicker than it already is without changing its pitch?.. any way to do that?
Is there a way to apply a loop, to the end of the sample and still let the sample start from the beginning? It then should loop the loop region until the midi note is released.
Useful tutorial, thanks. On a slightly un-related note, how do you get that extra grid for your patterns underneath your playlist? I can't find any options in 'view' to enable it.
What version of FL are you using, and which edition? Certain editions have limited features, and older versions of FL - versions older than 10 at least - don't have the pattern section. I can't speak for FL11, because I haven't made the upgrade yet; they may have decided to go with an all in one playlist again.
MrThunderwing No problem. I'll upgrade to FL11 this weekend and let you know what I find out. I thought I read something where they decided to 'simplify the playlist'. I could be wrong, but I'll let you know for sure within the next day or so :) Image-line has a habit of changing up the UI in such a way that it throws people off, so the change wouldn't surprise me.
