“Play” makes two things crystal clear: MNH & Chung Ha have found THE composers who she works best with (the same team did “Stay Tonight” - and BVNDIT’s “Cool”); and somewhere in MNH HQ on a very secure server there is Chung Ha’s actual comeback song - and that for MNH to “waste” two such amazing songs as “just” preview singles they have to be VERY confident that the comeback is going to be mind blowing.
Stay tonight and Play are sort of like title tracks. They have mvs and are both heavily promoted. It’s either they’re released like this or have the album split into parts and call them title tracks.
@@Pandas_are_dumb this could definitely be the case, though it was said stay tonight would not get live performances because it was a pre release. as far as i know play won't get any either, so that kind of implies there will be a song that gets promoted on music shows (so it'll probably get an mv as well and count as the actual title track)
@@funnyjoke567 Stay Tonight and Play are considered "pre-releases" according to her, and she plans on doing one more before the entire album drops, apparently (Taking all of this with a grain of salt). My guess is that she will release one more pre-release, and then the album with the title track
Changmo's part refers not only to stay tonight but also remedy (their first collab song) and gotta go (he says in his lyrics its always twelve o clock).
She's so mesmerizing, omg. And the song is so fun and bouncy. I love the circus-y theme of the video and the sort of latin vibe of the choreo. What a masterpiece.
The only thing that shocked me in a slightly bad way was the inspiration from bullfighting. But I was glad they used a car instead of animal. Even tho I wouldn't used an inspiration from that cruel activity at all. Other than that I LOVED everything. Only after posting my second Kpop MV reaction which was for this song as well, I realised how UNPREPARED I was, my reactions were crazy 😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣 Please come and have a good laugh today 😳😳😳🤣🤣🤣
The dude who dance with her is Kim HongIn, he was a contestant of the survival show BOYS24 and was also in Dancing9. Kim HongIn is truly amazing because actually he have hearing disability but dance like that and even sing in BOYS24 His Instagram : ghddls95
Omygod I'm early for the first time since I discovered your channel!! I love love loooove your reactions and you're the best reactor for me esp when it's my ult groups svt and nct 💎💚
Ooh I found this channel today. You're right, Changmo's lyrics were referencing two songs... "Stay Tonight" and "Gotta Go (Korean title - "It's already 12 am"). And yeah Play was my fav MV in 2020.
I don't want to make you feel bad with this but I have to explain something cause is "my" culture cause I'm from Spain... So here is the thing: I was really sad to see the "matador" concept on this mv... Do you all know what matador means? It means killer. They kill bulls for sport and make them last to see them suffer. Is something a lot of people in my country are fighting against because is really cruel.... I want to say that I'm relieved that the directors of this video ended using the car instead of a bull for the symbolism but I would be really happy if this image of my country stopped to spreading. Here, in Barcelona (my city), bullfights are prohibited and we transform our bullrings in malls. I know that for you this could be cultural interesting and I get that some artists could get inspiration out of looking at the dresses (cause I'm an artist myself) but when I saw somebody talking or reflecting the bullfighting kind of makes me think that probably they don't know what happens inside those bullrings, the bloody this gets, and the sounds the bull makes when he gets stabbed (several times and just for fun...) it kinda makes me feel ashamed of my origins and of my country for having such a horrible tradition. (I don't want you all to take this the wrong way cause this has nothing to do with Chungha but with the art concept of the mv) Last but not least: Ben you were amazing as always * ㄱ *
This is a very interesting perspective and i wasn't aware so many Spanish people were strongly against it so thanks for sharing that. It's also something I'm strongly against so I completely understand why you don't like it being used in this video. My perspective is that even though this form of entertainment is immoral I do think it's okay to take inspiration from it for a music video because it's not really promoting the idea or encouraging it, it's just part of the aesthetic. I think people do a lot of actions which can be considered wrong for videos like drugs and violence etc but as long as it's just a theme and not actually encouraged directly i see it as acceptable. Also don't feel ashamed of your origins! Every culture has some dark sides but just make sure you do what you can to try and fight it and bring awareness of the issue like you are doing now! :)
@@nailachoudhury3795 Yeah is that exactly I am thankful that they only got inspiration for the dresses and they used the car but the problem is people not knowing what this is about so I wanted to share it cause you see the majority of tourists being super exited and wanting to find out more about this "tradition" when they visit our country but they don't really know what this is about or the cruelty involve in it. Thank you for your opinion (I completely share your thoughts) and your support * ㄱ *
