I don't think Boston is a dirty player, but she turned right into Stewie. Sure, Stewie got in her space, but Boston saw her and had a couple seconds to make a decision to turn left or right. We all know which way she decided to turn lol. With that said I don't think Boston intended to hit her in the face, more like move her with her turn.

It's a flafrant foul 1 to swing your elbows with the ball in your hand strikng an opposing player in the head. It was intentional. It's the most dangerous foul you can commit.

There is no way that that should have been a flagrant one. She was being doubled teamed and made a basketball move. The rule does state that if a player get hit above the chin that it is a flagrant, but what do you do when a player walks into the contact. Aliyah is a rookie and Stewie is veteran and I believe that the call favored the narrative of the "Super Team".

I disagree. Aliyah initiated contact so it’s a offensive foul. It was excessive because it’s to the head and she could’ve avoided it. Whether it’s a basketball move doesn’t matter. It’s absolutely a flagrant. Btw, there is no “basketball move” that requires you to hit anybody in the head at anytime. Even if she is closely guarding you.

The player (Aliyah) didn't walk into contact. She was standing stationary defending and was deliberately struck in the head by Boston intentionally swinging her elbows. That's very dangerous bush league stuff. Read the rule book on swinging elbows striking an opponent in the head yourself and see what you think then.

No she didn't...quit being a hater!! AB had a choice between going left or right. One way she could escape traffic (which is what a player who gives a d@mn about others besides herself would have done) and the other she was going straight at Stewie. She chose to hit Stewie, she paid the price...I loved it. Just wish they had ejected her instead of just a Flagrant 1...but hey 3 fouls in like 5 minutes...good for her...NOT!!!

Not a flagrant foul. Offense foul, yes. As Boston was preparing to make her pivot to the middle, Stewart jumped into her path. The idiotic comments from the commentators: “she lead with her elbow so it should be flagrant”. That’s how you’re taught to securely hold the basketball above your head. “It’s hard to hit Stewart in the head because she’s really tall”. Duh, no it’s not. The raised elbow is the same elevation as the head for similar height players. This was a basketball move where Stewart was caught by an inadvertent elbow. The commentators especially for wnba games create false narratives that imply certain players are dirty.
