Hi Michi! This lesson is so clear, if you were a baseball player it would have been a sweetly struck home run! I am doing rudiments as part of my practice schedule and would not have known the correct mechanics on my own. Thank you so much.
A well explained how to video. Well done & nicely executed. FYI; Steve Smith does a variant - a flam on the first of the 2 rights then a flam on the first of the second 2 lefts.😀
Thanks for another great lesson. This one is definitely challenging and a little tricky. I like the way you broke it down for us part by part. Makes it easier to learn this one. Thanks as always . Taking this to the practice pad.
Thanks, variations in the videos help me varying my practice and not forgetting the technique. I like how accurately you describe the movements and the muscles to involve. Also after getting it, I'll see it going over the samba feet :)
You're playing the four taps with the right hand all as finger strokes with an upstroke in the last note, but the left taps as a double followed by tap/up...? Wouldn't it make more sense to play the four left taps with the fingers as well? The reason I ask, is because I do it exactly the same way as you, but am trying to get my left hand to play the same way as the right and that has proven to be a real struggle. I seem to naturally revert to the double followed by tap/up at higher tempos.
