I'm so excited! I got it for my family. Our children range from years 3-12 and all are starting to want to play games with us more. So this will fit nicely into my kids and family weight games collection. It has enough strategy and variability to make it a fine game for my wife and I, while also being fairly simple in mechanisms and visually stimulating that we hope our kids will enjoy as much as I know we will.
I loved the image of the dragon making Crème brûlée that went around the net a couple years ago and when I heard there was an entire game based on that image, with tons more original art...I knew I was in trouble. I have to be picky about which games I pick up since I've got a bitty apartment, and we have a one game goes in, one game goes out rule. I resisted the Kickstarter on this one, saying I couldn't just buy the game based on the art alone. Now you tell me it's an awesome game with cool mechanics, and the art looks amazing, and those minis, and that huge game mat looks great, and the toast meeple! The toast meeple. Guys, the toast meeple broke me. Hard not to get excited when you guys are so excited!
I got to demo this at GenCon and I am so beyond ecstatic that I backed this! Can’t wait to get my copy and play a full game! And, as always, Shira’s excitement brought a huge smile to my face!
I'm with Shira on this one!!! I fell in love with the art, theme, and components before I realized that the game was great, too! Your excitement was palpable! I would love to see someone take the new open license for the Cypher System and develop a Flamecraft setting. We already have minis and map locations. :)
My gaming group that loves worker placement is who i picked it up for. we are 5 people that all went "we need this" when we saw the artwork. and also, we got extra sets for the delux minis to paint because we knew that we would want them.
I didn't think the theme would be that appealing to me originally, but found myself continually drawn back to it during the campaign, and so impressed with every aspect of it, I ended up going all in. Looking forward to playing this with the family mainly, but friends and workmates too.
The solo mode is so good, my favorite shop is the Postal Office and my favorite dragon is Lavander, who likes to go all over town finding the right place or every other dragon!
Really looking forward to this one! I also appreciate that you guys mentioned up top that this isn't your backer copy. You had me wondering if I mis-read the most recent kickstarter update at first haha. Can't wait to see more on this one from you guys (and continuing to love the additional production efforts).
I love the excitement, and I share it fully! I'm really looking forward to getting my copy of the game! We got this because the theme is absolutely amazing and we don't have too many worker placement games in our collection yet. With such an adorable theme I'm sure it'll be a great way to introduce family and friends to the genre, as most worker placement games seem a little dry :p
My FLGS backed this one and I'm so excited to play at Board Game night there with people new to the hobby. I think lots of people are going to have similar reactions to this beauty as Shira did. I mean, I am still freaking out about how charming it is.
I really like the style and paintings in Flamecraft, as well as the colorful tokens and cards. There is no doubt that it is one of the best Eurogame. Great presentation! Thank you very much~ 😄😄
So freakin cool. Cannot wait to get my deluxe edition. It is apparently on a boat to Europe and we should have it by the end of September I believe. Awesome. I hope it delivers, but judging from your comments, Jesse, the gameplay is solid.
I played Mission Catastrophe again last night (which also includes potatoes, btw), and it is an awesome game! So fun! Cardboard Alchemy is one to watch.
Looks awesome!! I so can't wait to get my copy from the KS! Sadly, I had to skip the plushies, but I got the pins!!! Right now, all my gaming is me and my husband, but am very much looking forward to teaching this to friends!
I wasn't able to back this myself at the time but my friends backed it and I cannot wait to play it. I actually sent him this video before I even watched far enough into it to hear that this was an early copy from the publisher. Bummer but their copy will arrive eventually and they went all in too. Also, Potato is the best!
I am sorry I missed LDG at Gencon! The excitement you guys have for this is very infectious. I am excited to get this game to the table with my friends and fellow gamers.
I can't wait to get my copy!! I got the deluxe and a million add-ons too and I still want more! (I diamond paint also and this artist - Sandra Tang - was just licensed with a copy huge in the hobby and I can't wait to see her art on some canvases.) 😍
Potato is a Meat Dragon? That seems ironic. My youngest is going to react just about the same way when we get our copy. She's quite excited for this - mostly due to the artwork. Hoping the game works well for the under 10 crowd as well, but even without that, she's loving the art and the concept of this theme.
I quite enjoy the Art of Sandara IG account, so I’m gunna have to get this sometime, even if I couldn’t quite sneak the Kickstarter edition when that was running.
This is the first game the wife decided to kickstart without my showing her first. She didn’t even realise it was on its way until a week ago because the emails had ended up in junk lol. She’s super excited for it now tho, to the point I don’t think I can actually share this vid with her…
I would love to hear a review if your opinion has change of the game. I know when this was on Kickstarter you mentioned it was more family friendly but in this video you made it sound like the choice decision of this game is amplified by the quality of the players
This looks amazing, I'm gonna have to look into it. By the way, I found a game on kickstarter that I was suprised to see you haven't mentioned yet. It's called Abducktion, a strategic duck kidnapping game. Aliens kidnapping ducks! Looks cute at first glance.

This campaign launched during one of my "I need to cut back" phases, and I'm kinda bummed I won't get the KS version. I'll probably still snag a retail copy, though, and maybe spring for the upgraded meeples. I'm with Jesse, I like the standard wooden dragons well enough.
I totally understand. I’m in the can’t afford to back anything for the next 3-6 months as I try and catch up. I know I’m going to miss some amazing games. However, I still have 50+ kickstarters coming in the next couple years.
This got a little chaotic guys. At least your enthusiasm came through, and actually made me excited to wait for the localization here in Hungary (if I could buy games... but I started my plan B for that)
