Congrats phil, nice video. By the way, the floors are cobblestone, like the Paris Roubaix road :)))) I'm so glad you're back to good health. You have regained your strength. You are great. Greetings to my sister Jane. I wish you luck my friend.👍👍👍
Great video Phill, looked an all in challenge. Jasper Verkuijl had water in his Wahoo bolt recently too it does happen, I confess to being adverse to riding in the rain but awesome effort with that Flanders assault!!
Cheers Pete 🙏 - I was really happy to get it done. After a quick practice on the Koppenberg on the Friday pm, I quickly realised that simply getting around would be a major achievement 🥵
Too too kind Tommy ! But very much appreciated 🙏. I was beyond happy to make it around. Proper tough conditions - and a super challenging course - but very very addictive - and I’d love to film it properly in ..: dryer conditions 💯
Awesome video again Phil, despite everything going against you. I’m heading out to Belgium tomorrow to do Flandrien challenge, can’t say I’m overly looking forward to it now, it’s going to be emotional for sure.
Phil mate .. Every bit of your vlog was absolutely right. It was an awe full day weather wise. -> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--R1hpm0jU_A.html I am recovering from surgery hence did a short one. Next year 175k for sure. I didn’t find koppenberg so difficult. For British riders.. our day to day commute and roads are so pathetically bad.. I felt at home doing koppenberg. 💪🏽💪🏽
🤣 your video is excellent - and agreed in its own right it’s not as tough as many British climbs. But as part of a sportive - and in the wet I found the cobbles and the narrow road and all the walkers a very challenging proposition - plus not able to stand and apply the turbo boost ! Your own climb was impeccable 👌
But... did it happen, if it's not on Strava ? Those cobbles were a good test for the bike screws and for your bones 😉 nice video, safer for you and for the GoPro to keep it in the pocket with these conditions anyway. Good job from Jayne and you !
Such a shame that all the tech conspired against you Phill, and big shout out to Jayne for making some exceptional lemonade from the lemons you were given 👌always lovely to see Ruben too. Looked like a fantastic event, congratulations on the brilliant time and indeed just completing it. Big step in the recovery arc there
Cheers Nick 🙏 - yep only got around the course because of Ruben’s support, and want to go back, because it’s very addictive - there is something intangible and alluring to the course - very demanding and very satisfying 💯
I did the 70km last year, much better weather than you had. If you want cobbles, get yourself to the Paris-Roubaix sportive. Did it this year and those cobbles make the Flanders ones seem like Mallorcan tarmac. The Flanders sportive and weekend is a much better experience though in my opinion.
Phil Ex Supreme Soul of All Roads... presently struggling to survive on a post banking world...i consider u the maximum expertise in non-professional road biking...i would need your opinion about one article i read sometime ago,it was about using high quality carbon frames on smart trainers and zwifting with them, the article mentioned that special carbon frames are not build to sustain the immense pressure of the Zwift climbs like +6% or even higher gradients while being attached to the trainers,up to them the frames are built to move all the way up so that pressure is distributed all along the frame, the static position of the frame when setup on the trainer can damage it creating fissures which at plain sight are not visible... what do you think personally about their claim ??
There's only 1 way to get the data back. Do the route again. No disrespect to your camera work, but this doesn't look like something I ever want to experience.
