• Flandre ULTRA HD • Flandre ULTRA HQ This is a sadistic hack of EoSD that maxs out the rank and also throws a bunch of nasty stuff in... It's mainly just a rank hack for extra, though. Since it desyncs replays, this is a live run.
WUNDER64 Actually an average day is her just sitting around being lazy. She only really works hard on really shitty days. It's the same thing for Mario, he doesn't do shit ALL of the time. Most of the time he just lazes around and visits Peach when she bakes a cake and Bowser doesn't show up to wreak shit up. This also applies to Harry Potter. I wonder what Harry does when he has nothing to do.
Once walked in on my friend doing this exact encounter. He was sat at the computer, lights of, at night, curtains close, volume on full. Laughing like a maniac. Good times
Friends: "He looks so focused I wonder what deep things he's thinking of." Me: *What is the deal with Flandre's legs?* Remilia: *her legs freak me out better keep her in the basement.*
Sadly, if the game engine was improved to handle well over 2000 bullets on the screen along the bullet patterns being fixed this could be a legitimate difficulty.
5900 grazes in 30 seconds with normal enemies? (and that ain't even the boss) That is just madness. Anyone who can do this without dying or using a bomb is an absolute *MADLAD* or in touhou words: a *LUNATIC*
It's fun to take something well-known and make it new again =) Generally it's just a bit harder, with the few WHAT, NO, IMPOSSIBLE! sections. I was surprised how doable and fun it was though, after expecting it to just be stupid. Also, good luck with Mokou!
I shed a bit of tears inside at the ending ...and to thought you were truly going to show me who's the boss of this game, the big boss of this touhou game
as far as i can tell, ultra seems like a double-edged sword: the whole stage difficulty stands on bullet density, and since some bullets travel faster they get out of the screen more quickly, plus the bullets limit screws up some patterns making them far more easy than the normal thing. however, it pulls the read-dodge reflex to the limit... now, what would happen if the 2000 bullets boundary would disappear (Yukari's fooling aroud again...)
This happens when you tend to combine the "More Dakka" trope with Touhou. Kind of like mixing a liquid atomic bomb with a sample of Cthulhu's DNA mixed with Chuck Norris's chest hair.
@SadisticPenguinofAND About the katakana part/english words, I don't know if it has been said already, but it reads "kuranberii torappu", then "reevatein", then "foo obu a kaindo", then "Sutaaboo bureiku", then "katadioputorikku", which are the "pronounciation" written in katakana. Not sure why they write it like that and not just in english.
@SadisticPenguinOfAND Does the patch stay forever if you use it? If it stays can you tell me how to remove it? I dont wanna have bullets nailing me every corner i try Flandre D:
@SadisticPenguinOfAND *Sees orbs moving to the music to 9:03 and later when the music stops for a little bit, when that weird thing happens to the bullet pattern, sees ?! in the annotation* Was kinda funny when that ?! appeared at the same time the music went down a little bit, matched so perfectly. Was like ; NANI ?! Still great playthrough, bro. =)
@curtmack Yeah, I guess that makes sense. I just always figured that they would simply use the Japanese words for four of a kind in a situation like that, or at least definitely for Kagome Kagome.
There is a new ultra mode, I think it called SCARLET.EXE, there are 3 mode: EZ, Lunatic, EX. Oh, they have 3 correction: Correction 2: Each [1up] give 3 lives. Each [B] give 6 bombs. Correction 1(default): Each [1up] give 2 lives. Each [B] give 4 bombs. Correction 0: Each [1up] give 1 lives. Each [B] give 1 bombs. Correction 2 is recommended for play the patch.
As someone who has (painfully) gotten through EoSD Extra, I have to say...some of the faster things look easier than their slower counterparts. Main reason: less screen cluttering. Bullets that lag behind make me paranoid and kill me so much.
Is this an older version of the ultra patch? It seems like just a rank hack to me. Nowhere near as insane as what's shown in nicovideo's sm8508923 (which I thought was the ultra patch).
Well, it looks like it's possible to save a few bombs in ATWTBN on the blue bullets part at least, since those are all straight lines and is actually somewhat realistically readable (with very fast reactions and good skills at least, neither of which a player who can't even capture normal Starbow Break consistently like me have). If one puts them altogether perfectly (or do a 15FPS run or something), this is... surprisingly possible.
Those yellow bullets had me laughing. Just completely miss... anything! I'd argue that the streaming attacks are made easier by this since they're less fragmented so you aren't having to dodge the residue of another stream, but obviously you don't get a lot of time for error correction. Seems like a fun mod at any rate.
It's kind of deceptive... I've actually gotten up to Q.E.D. three times, each time to have Flandre send me packing before I get to that "hard" part of the spell. It'll be something for me to try in a year maybe, but at my current skill I think it's impossible for me.
Fascinating. I didn't know that, all I know is that The Death Waltz and Flandre's U.N. Owen Was Her is a massive source of debate amongst the Touhou Fandom. Im not one of the rabid fans screaming bloody murder and knew almost nothing on the subject. Nice of you to do the research, you clearly very smart :)
