IMO it's too much weird and gross and not too much substance. There are good moments, but it's buried under a lot of forgettable or just vapid disgusting things.
@johnkramer2144 honestly with shows like flapjack and courage the cowardly dog, I have no idea how i wasn't scared as fuck watching CN when i little 😭 but tbf I respect the art, it's still a great show lol Edit: i went on a flapjack clip spree and holy shit nvm i do remember being weirded out by some of the creepy shit on this show but i think my brain just wanted to repress it 💀
It has some of the old SpongeBob writers if I'm not mistaken. I know Thurop Van Orman had his influence in shows like The Powerpuff Girls and Grim Adventures. A lot of popular cartoons between 1999-2008 were influenced by largely the same people. Similar levels of humor and storytelling where you cut the episodes up into individual skits and gags. Cartoons nowadays are typically much more linear.
Everyone who worked on this show eventually split off and created more memorable shows. Regular Show, Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, etcetera, etcetera.
That cat scared the shit outta me so much as a kid, it kept me up for multiple nights. CN had no right jump scaring my little ass with those mf closeups
This is honestly CN’s SpongeBob equivalent. Both shows have a nautical setting, random detailed close-ups, and both feature a naive protagonist and his greedy pirate-like boss.
@@okjeffy6581 daaang I completely forgot the mighty b ever existed lmao it's funny that I can't recall a single episode but I remember I just loved watching it when I was a kid. I wonder why don't they air it anymore like they started doing recently with chowder or flapjack
0:46 I've always found the fact that there's no transition between the guy's faces hilariously unnerving. One frame he's smiling, the next he's scowling with no in between
I need to find that one scene where they pan across the Candy Bar and among the chaos, a shark comes out of a gorilla's bellybutton and ate the gorilla. I need to confirm I actually saw this on Flapjack because it's been haunting me for years
Flapjack had an insanely good crew that would go onto to make amazing shows. They had the creatirs of adventure time, regular show and gravity falls. And with how random those shows were it makes sense they came from flapjack
Nunca entendí qué hacía un niño tan tierno en un lugar lleno de Freaks y seres perturbados. Luego, me di cuenta que Flapjack también era espeluznante por momentos.
Oh lol I used to watch this as a kid with my brother fiding it weird but still liked it because it was funny But damn I remember that cat scaring the shit out of my brother still to this day
