Glad you asked,,no do not attempt that,,flashing firmware is for recovery mainly,,,,,when they made your box,the current android version was 6.0 ,,on any newer android version hardware would not match yours,therefore would not contain the drivers for your hardware that is in your box.

No it will not ,you will need a Windows Pc for this to work.

When you first connect the box to Pc,only the dual male usb cable will work disconnect all other cables,when connecting to Pc ,usb port on Pc must a min 2.0,,try other usb port on both box and Pc then install software and flash.let me know how that goes.

From what you say it sounds like a setting on the tv,,perhaps on most Tv's you will find a source button which will switch the tv to different inputs going into the tv,what kind of tv do you have?

most likely no because what you have is much older and the hardware used in the newer one would not match,,if you want go to settings menu about box and at the top would be update if there is one that is where to look

Your welcome ,on that usb connection but not showing ,that could be the pc on some computers the usb connections are not all the same,try a different connection point on pc,,now on that Android Flash all together ,it is not going to work to use different android version,,and the reason why is that when they use a new android version,they use newer hardware ,which would not match what you have,,if you have any questions,feel free to ask.

You can try this 1 check that the date and time are set correctly on your box,,,if that is ok,you can try plugging in cable and then reset your router with the box plugged in and on.

Sure ok ,first with a factory reset your device has to fully function to do a factory reset ,and a factory reset consist of returning your device to when you first got it new which removes any apps you put on it and removes your information from memory of the box,,,,now with flashing firmware ,it will do the same thing as a reset ,but flashing firmware is for recovery only ,,as in when your box won't work and will not let you reset because the device will not work at all,,,,,often others attempt to update their android os version by flashing newer firmware,which results in their device stops working,because the newer android version is made for a newer box and the device drivers do not match what they have in their box,,,So remember this , to flash firmware only use the version of android that came on your box ,,the thing to look for if you are going to flash it,,is first search by the name on the box ,then only choose the one with same android version

Here is the thing about what you are trying to do,flashing firmware is mainly for restoring stock firmware,,if one is to try and update newer firmware they will find that the box becomes unusable,and the reason for that is that the newer firmware is made for newer hardware,which an older android box would not contain,which is why they fail....I will try and help you recover your android box,,1 do you know which version of Android came stock on it? 2 How long have you owned the box? 3 when did it first mess up ?

Well as you stated the problem is overheating ,not firmware,first How long have you had that box,,and also box should be on a flat surface with plenty of ventilation around it,I would not put around any sort of heat source,these android box's run hot because they are designed to burn up,with no cooling fan inside,,,I would suggest opening box replacing heat sinks inside box with heat sinks that have cooling fan mounted on them,or just mount some cooling fans on what is there,make some ventilation passages in the case of the box,,,,these android tv box's are very poorly designed.

When I use windows ten I would run in troubleshoot compatibility mode by right clicking on icon and selecting,,,,,also I must state this,,overall in the bigger picture of things,,,your time is more valuable than money,,your sanity is worth more than that box cost,,

That light does not matter,,on my box the light stopped working the next day,but the box works great,,,and I find that the light was very intrusive to my vision and I did not mind that it stopped working,,,but yes this will work for you

The firmware for a Android box is basically A custom made firmware for that box only in which the firmware would contain all drivers for that box,firmwares are not at all interchangeable ,,,what I suggest is getting an external disc drive that is compatible with android,when you plug into your box the driver will self install,when you connect the cable.
