It was the first time for my lil brother kayak & kayak camping & he just moved back home from Texas that thruday before the holidays. I am so glad that my lil brother job Transferred him back home from Texas because it's been 2 years since I saw him because of the pandemic & we are Close to each other. It is so weird seeing what I have done for years on video. I've got bits and pieces with pictures and small movie videos but never an entire trip like you have captured. You almost hit every single place that I have stopped at from the fireworks all the way down to the dog beach at Otto armletter. Although my paddle on the Ohio River went a little further to pirate's cove. Crazy cool to see someone enjoying the high water on the Miami like I do. Everybody thought I was crazy but I love it when it's like that. The big bulges of water that you were experiencing was the river combining to the Ohio. The Ohio pushes back on the little Miami when the level is that high. It's basically two Rivers fighting for dominance. It was also really cool to see you on sections of the river while I was watching The River rise lol. I was planning an excursion that day as well along with a buddy I met on kayak Ohio. He was afraid of the height but I was all about it LOL because I've been there before he just didn't have the experience to feel comfortable going. We was going to meet up with you LOL. And I feel exactly the same way I have to do the entire River or hiking area or I don't feel as if I've seen the whole area or river LOL. Hope to catch up with you on a river someday. And FYI because of the height of the water you missed the best rope swing on the little Miami lol
@jasonwish-
@jasonwish- Год назад
Maybe one these days I’ll make it back down there for that rope swing! Yeah that was very fun water glad I got to experience it and I kind of figured the Ohio river was causing those swells in the river almost like the ocean does in the tidal area of a River. Thanks for the detailed comment I appreciate it!

@jasonwish-
@jasonwish- Год назад
Not conducive to hammock camping at all, maybe in the fall when the folliage is gone you may be able to see into the woods more. If you stayed at campgrounds along the way you may be ok but then you're at the mercy of where they are located. If you want amazing hammock camping options you need to go to the Ausable or the Pine or the Manistee in MI, absolutely amazing!! Let me know if you have any other questions.

I’ve not had much luck with finding nice water to paddle in Ohio, your best bet is probably the Mad River which travels from West liberty Ohio to Dayton proximity 44 miles give or take. Like you said everything else is usually pretty murky. I recently read about the Blanchard River up in Northwest Ohio, it actually is a water trail, maybe you should check it out. Otherwise I would suggest going to Michigan, dozens and dozens of beautiful rivers with Clear water and great camping.
