Great video guys! Your comment to trigger the flash after changing the settings saved me so much frustration! Also love the engagement with your subject! Great vid - very helpful to me - thanks! :-)

Glad it helped! It caused me a lot of frustration as well. So many times it happened that I change the settings, take a photo and it's overexposed so I lower the settings even more, but then the first picture was okay and the second was underexposed. But then Peter explained to me it's because the flash is "preloading" the charge so when you lower a setting then the flash still has the previous charge preloaded that's why you have to trigger it after changing settings :)

That was a great video. You two are great together. Yes the Godox DP 400 lights are great to work with. The company was a cheap lighting to start with, but they have come along way from where they were.

Thanks :) We just had a pair of Godox microphones too and I find it better than the Rode. Godox really became a budget but quality brand.

Yeah, we have replaced the modelling bulb with a LED one. It's much better, but can't be dimmed...

This was very entertaining and good to know you’re satisfied with the Godox flash. I’m thinking about picking it up too since I need more power for full body portraits.

You should! Both the MS300 and the DP400III are excellent strobes.

It would be great to use a grid to give more directional Light. Great video

Awesome video!! Can the R2Pro trigger work on the DP400iii? Thank you!
@holdmylenscap7241
@holdmylenscap7241 Год назад
It should as the Adorama R2 Pro is part of the Godox X system.

i don't understand whether you are using a V series light? I don't think the modelling light on the regular 400iii is as bright...

We have replaced the bulb that came with it to an LED bulb. Unfortunately it can only go 100% but it's much brighter.

Is the DP400iii wireless also or just for in studio ?
@holdmylenscap7241
@holdmylenscap7241 Год назад
Unfortunately no, it needs to be plugged in a power socket.

This gave absolutely no information on how to set it up
@holdmylenscap7241
@holdmylenscap7241 Год назад
I know. We were too busy to show how to position the light for each result, and explaining how to use subject distance to get the desired lighting that we had no time to show you how to set it up. So to set it up first you need a stand. Open the legs of the stand to achieve the best stability. Then extend the stand to the desired height and move it to the desired position. Then open up the box of the flash and take out the flash. Put the flash on the stand and attach the light modifier of your choice. Plug the flash into a main socket and turn it on. Grab your camera and attach the wireless flash controller, turn both of them on. There. You're set. Hope it helps.
