As a young man here in the US I had all the respect for Jerry Falwell. What happened was I did not know how to read his code words and I was untrained at discerning arrogance & pride. Now, as a mature African-American Christian who is a Democrat, Jerry Falwell repulses me and I see his racism for what it was...back then I couldn't see it.
You need to educate yourself on the history of the Democratic party. Founders of the KKK, Jim Crow etc. They vehemently opposed civil rights legislation. It was the Republicans that passed it. That's your legacy idiot! Therefore YOU are the racist!

Dr. Jerry Falwell was a truly great man and visionary leader. Like the Old Testament prophets, he was an outspoken voice for righteousness in a culture gone mad.
It looks like he was missed by his friend Larry Flint. Yes that would be the Larry Flint of Penthouse Magazine. It says alot about those two men that they could look past their differences and become friends.
