I saw them in Chicago on the same tour. Best live concert I've ever seen. Soaked in sweat, ears ringing for days - nonstop raging intensity by Dex and Crow. Great.
This a well-shot single camera document of a great band at the peak of their powers. I was lucky enough to see them lots in chapel hill during this time. Excellent little film. Nice work!
Caught myself making the same face as Dex just watching this. Man, I would love to see them live. I'm from NC and this music holds a special place in my heart.
What I loved about this band was the 3 second wait between songs when they played live. Energy. Unbridled energy. I saw them a couple of times in Raleigh in the late 90's right before they split and man did they bring it. I had to leave after 2 hours because I was so tired from moving. They always left it on the stage, man.

Hey! "John Law" (at around 37 minutes) kinda sounds like The White Stripes' "Let's Shake Hands"! You can really see how much Dex influenced Jack White...
If you can find the solo album "Dexter Romwebber - Folk Songs" buy it. One of the best albums I have ever bought. Midnight is one of the most hauntingly beautiful songs ever recorded .
I'll have to give you credit on this Band - Thanks. Cramps fan myself. I'll forward this one to friends that like Psychobilly. Hard to find such bands in 2023.
Here's a partial list of the songs played, Please contribute to it if you can and will do so. I marked songs that I didn't know the titles of with question marks. 0:13 Cobra (Theme 2 revisited) 3:18 Ain't Goin' Away 4:42 Blackbeard 7:41 Lonely Wolf 12:07 ? Yes indeed...the track "Piano" alone is worth the price of admission. Now if you can find Dexter's solo recording (also called "Piano" - from 2006) of unaccompanied classical piano tunes...THAT is truly a hair-raising record. Get it if you can find it!
1:01:25 is the last track on Introducing: The flat duo jets album. He covered Whisper Love it's true on Safari, 1:03:45 is Sing Sing Sing (Benny Goodman) 1:09:39 Is I've been loving you by Otis Redding, (Covered on Introducing: FDJ) 1:09:17 is 2,000 pound bee (The Ventures) The last one I'm actually not sure. Sounds like an old Rock n roll cover though :)
Hey man, I love the Stripes and the Jets. Without Meg's simple, straightfoward drumming, the White Stripes wouldn't be the White Stripes. Crow IS an amazing drummer though.
53:34 ? (Instrumental) 56:35 ? (Some lyrics sound like "Well, You play it straight") 1:01:25 ? (A lyric is "Whisper love, It's true" or something like that. For some reason I think it's a Buddy Holly tune but I don't know.) 1:03:45 ? (Instrumental) 1:09:39 ? 1:12:17 ? (Instrumental) 1:14:36 ?
I'm continuing the song time list. 37:17 ? (Is this on Two Headed Cow?) 41:32 ? (It's not "Michelle") 43:07 ? 45:51 Green Onions? (It sounds like it but with lyrics. Perhaps this is a different song.) 48:14 ? (I'm wondering if they're just jamming at this point.) 53:34 ?
