Flat Track Racing is growing in Alberta. As a matter of fact, it seems to be gaining popularity throughout the United States and Canada. While much of the popularity is largely with a more mature group of competitors the younger crowd is coming along. Flat track racing takes place in arenas and on dirt tracks typically used for horse racing as well. This eliminates the expense of sole purpose facilities. In terms of the race machine, many flat track race classes are quite reasonable to get in to without the need to invest in a lot of support equipment.
In this episode we visit with a couple of flat track racers who are continuing to be competitive in spite of an accumulation of years. These racers use their years of experience to overcome the effects of aging. You could say they're racing smarter not harder.
